yes there is penalty its big enough to hurt dont remember exactly how much though

yes, and no...
one player: 100% harvest.
one player, grouped with pet: still 100% harvest.
beyond that, each player harvests 60% of their potential yield. that means that two players get 60% + 60%, for a total of 120% (of the average 'creature harvesting' mod).
get a group of 20 scout/rangers, and you could be harvesting 1200% from each corpse... assuming you pool your resources.

40% penalty if grouped with anything other than a pet.
Sucks to group. But....
You do get more XP for weapons/combat when you're grouped, and the Scouting XP remains the same, altho the amount harvested is less. Groups mean you can take down larger creatures, or if in a solo group, get better missions with bigger creatures, more XP, and large payouts.
Generally, I now group with my droid for easy stuff, to bump the XP up. The droid watches and gets in the way. I haven't solo grouped much, will be doing some today for a big XP push to get a box in FS (don't need all that much, but I want to see what missions I get solo grouped).
Depending on what you are going for should determine if you group or not.

I tried this a week or so ago when there wasa decent Insect meat spawn on Tatooine. The droid, even though ungrouped, still got the penalty...at least mine did.

Just wanted people to make sure that people saw this part of the thread. I have had had issues with people saying 2 master Rangers can harvest 120% of a critter without qualifying that you need to actually pool the resources for this to be true. Nice post lamm

Hello fellow Rangers
i really want this confirmed or... unconfirmed.. is it true that when your in a group you suffer a huge penalty in the amount you harvest?
