swgcraft.com has a listing for every server on what the current shifts are. swgcreatures.com will tell you creatures drop what resources (do an advacned search).

swgcraft.com is only as good as the input from the members and what servers they are reporting from. It is a good place to start, though, as it has a lot of other good information such as what resource is used in what crafting recipes and which attributes are most important. I usually just planet hop and "test" the current harvests (I kill a sampling of creatures to find out about the quality of meats and hides).

I have only submitted 1 planets info. Once my characters are finally settled one of my goals was to always keep SWGCraft updated for bloodfin. The interface for entering multiple listings takes some getting used to. I wish it was a little more intuitive. But i'll learn it and keep bloodfin listed right

Fodder - don't do this by yourself. I did that once for about two months -- I would start out, go to every planet, harvest everything I could and then post the results on the bloodfin boards and swgcraft.com. I even wrote a vb app to convert the data from my spreadsheet to swgcraft.com format.

But I realized that this (ie. the survey) took over 6 hours to do, and I really didn't have the time to dedicate to it anymore, so I stopped. I also realized that there are a lot of people actively adding stuff to swgcraft.com all the time. Usually my marathon sessions were only confirming what others had already found. So, what I do now is stick stuff into swgcraft.com if it is particularly goodand I notice that it is not listed.

The thing about swgcraft.com is that it's not run by the swg devs, so we as players can actually have an impact. If you think (and this is not directed at you Fodder :smileyvery-happy that swgcraft.com isn't updated as often as it should be, then start updating it yourself. If you don't have time to update it yourself or you can't bring yourself to make the effort to do so, then you don't really have the right to complain that it's not up-to-date enough.

And yes, I know its probably been a month since I added anything, but you'll never hear me complain about the site or its service. I think that that site is probably one of the best things going for the game at the present moment.

Yeah i saw that when i updated Rori because i was duplicating others work. As for SWGCraft being a fan site. I couldnt be happier it exists. Besides the resource piece if your a crafter (or even a ranger) looking for what materials are needed for what. Its the perfect tool. That site and swgcreatures.com are the two i visit most for anything i need in game. Mostly what i was saying about it being slow was that I, or we as a group, need to keep it up to date and do our part. BUt your right do a full on update of 10 planets wouldnt be fun. Its easier to look at the list for whats 11 days old or older and decide what needs to be checked.

The easiest way to submit to swgcraft is by using the in game /notepad ---- A submission would go as follows:

swgcraft_start

aismogini,corellian wooly hide,41,903,634,956,800

swgcraft_end

The syntax is resource name, resource type, stats

The notepad results are stored under the profile folder in the Star Wars directory. I created a shortcut on my desktop so I can cut and paste into the SWGCraft website. When ready to post go to the galaxy and planet in current resources and scroll to the bottom of the page where a box is available. Make sure you are on the planet page which you have resources for. Cut, paste and select submit. Make any edits that are needed and submit for final inclusion into the database. You can cut and paste multiple lines at a time, as long as you have the swgcraft_start and swgcraft_end tags inserted.

Good luck to my fellow swgcraft resource posters.

My secret weapon:

http://www.iootnega.com/medresources/default.asp

Choose your server and you'll find out exactly what doctors and CMs are looking for, presented in a very easy to understand (and search with CTRL-F) format. Yes, the data is mined off swgcraft.com, but I find it a hell of a lot easier to use this interface than swgcraft's.

Hope this helps.

SWGCraft.com rocks.

I love that site. And I /tip the people who seem to submit the most resources. In my opinion it is the most effective SWG site out there.
