Here, fellow Rangers, is the location of an MSN page that has links to a lot ofthe help/donation sites for theKatrina relief effort.
Thought you would all like to see it if you haven't already.

I know that a lot of people's lives have been devastated..
the following is a link from FEMA to the organizations that take donations.
FEMA
Just a note:
my wife and i have been very active in non-profits, recovery and relief projects, and humanitarian relief organizations, and while it is tempting to send blankets, food, and other basic supplies, in times like this, the distribution networks are not fully efficient, and the items you donate could sit in a warehouse for weeks or months.
All relief agencies are asking for cash right now, and then they will coordinate specific items for relief.
Lastly,
please do not respond to emails that ask for donations, as we saw after Sep. 11, there are some people out there who will use this tragedy for their personal gain. If you want to donate, contact the organization directly or go through a reputable business, like microsoft (thanks for the above link) or Google or the Red Cross, Salvation Army... FTC Guide to Charitable Giving
Thanks again for the post, and i wish the funds and relief godspeed, my prayers are with the affected people and the relief workers.

Thanks you very much for the suggestions. I saw a lot of those emails then.
I did the same. I donated cash to the Red Cross.
