Man, just read 3 of your posts in a row, you're a very cheery, excited guy with all those caps. Getting tired just reading them.

The answer to your question. Yes, a DE (Droid Engineer) can equip a droid with upto 6 trap modules. However 2 trapping modules seem to max out the max amount of traps it can hold (48 iirc, meaning 24 adhesive mesh traps or 9 and a bit of all the others). You can only load one type of trap at the same time in a droid and you have to load them in their basic form (meaning, you can't put a factory crate with 24 adhesive mesh traps with one click in it, you have to to load 24 2shot traps).

Benefits? Letting the droid throw the trap doesn't count towards your combat queue.

Drawbacks? You have to put up a camp or wait 15 secs before you can attack. You can't have any other droid out (pure combat or harvestingdroid for example). Traps don't really do much wether you or the droids throws them.

You need scout to use the droid, the traps that are used the most are in the scout trapping line so anyone using the droid is capable of supplying him/herself.

If you want to make money with traps you need to sell crates of Glow-juice, Glow Wire and/or Wire Mesh, these are used for grinding the trapping line. But hologrinding will stop at P9/P10 so this market will collapse pretty soon.

I have an MSE trap tosser. I have used it about half dozen times. It's not bad as a Rifleman. I can keep back at optimal range, have the droid toss the traps all that time my tusk cat it playing tank.
Only two grips I have is:

1. Only holds on type of trap (be nice to hold two or thee types of traps and assign a command to “switch” the current selected trap

2. Batteries! Could just be my droid, but it uses the juice up.

Now I mastered Ranger I don’t use traps as much now. So needles to say the droid stays parked in my data pad.

Good Hunting!

Asa master ranger i love my trap droid. I especially use it when im in a group hunting. Im starting to appreciate adhesive mesh. The trap droids add a bonus to your trapping abilities. This doesnt seem to be much for a novice scout as i learned trying to help someone with the scout grind. But it seems to be nice when your a higher level trapper like i am. There isnt much my trapping 56 bonus bot cant handle for me now. And i love it when the aim symbol pops up at 60m. Just remmber to give it the stay command so it doesnt go into battle. Or equip it with a combat module to allow it to stand and fight while you kill whats on it.

I actually have a Probot that is a Trapper/Combat, and I love him. 3k+ HAM, with a 120-130 attack and a capacity for 32 traps. I loathe crafting, so I haven't made any new traps for him in a while, but I still use him in combat pretty much all the time.
