Thread: TRAP DROIDS??
Man, just read 3 of your posts in a row, you're a very cheery, excited guy with all those caps. Getting tired just reading them. ![]()
The answer to your question. Yes, a DE (Droid Engineer) can equip a droid with upto 6 trap modules. However 2 trapping modules seem to max out the max amount of traps it can hold (48 iirc, meaning 24 adhesive mesh traps or 9 and a bit of all the others). You can only load one type of trap at the same time in a droid and you have to load them in their basic form (meaning, you can't put a factory crate with 24 adhesive mesh traps with one click in it, you have to to load 24 2shot traps).
Benefits? Letting the droid throw the trap doesn't count towards your combat queue.
Drawbacks? You have to put up a camp or wait 15 secs before you can attack. You can't have any other droid out (pure combat or harvestingdroid for example). Traps don't really do much wether you or the droids throws them.
You need scout to use the droid, the traps that are used the most are in the scout trapping line so anyone using the droid is capable of supplying him/herself.
If you want to make money with traps you need to sell crates of Glow-juice, Glow Wire and/or Wire Mesh, these are used for grinding the trapping line. But hologrinding will stop at P9/P10 so this market will collapse pretty soon.

Only two grips I have is:
1. Only holds on type of trap (be nice to hold two or thee types of traps and assign a command to “switch” the current selected trap
2. Batteries! Could just be my droid, but it uses the juice up.
Now I mastered Ranger I don’t use traps as much now. So needles to say the droid stays parked in my data pad.
Good Hunting!
