I've been working on Swordsman and Teras Kasi because swordsman sucks by itself, but I've been thinking that Teras Kasi and swordsman is too much combat professions. So, once again i come back to ranger. This profession i've done several times and had a lot of fun with it. And i think i want to go back to ranger, but first i'd like to ask the current rangers if swordsman and ranger is a good combination and if possible, give me some reasons.
After i finish swordsman and do either teras kasi or ranger, i will primarily hunt dark jedi(PC's) most likely i will be killed, but what the hell that's beside the point. I play solo, so that's one reason I want to do ranger but im afraid swordsman just isn't good enough without another combat profession.
THANK YOU for your comments.

It will be hard to kill jedi pc's with swordsman. Swordsman do have ap2 weapons but its kinetic, and so it is heavily protected by armor. Also, swordsman doesnt have the best defences, which is important when dealingwith player jedi. Fencer is best in this situation, and with a good acklay stun baton you should have no problem with initiates and padawans.

also, ranger alone will not be able to track jedi effiniciently unless you ask people where they are. Player track will only work for the planet you are on. BH ismade for jedi tracking, but because of the inept skills and no defenses not good for the actual killing of the jedi. With mbh you can still have the ranger tracking row. Although bh isnot worth the spnow, fencer is much better and it costs half the sp. I dont think there is enough points for master of melee prof and bh investigation.

The best way to kill Jedi is to NOT get any Ranger. If you want the tracking tree at the expense of Medic or Combat skills, that is fine, but don't waste any more time on Ranger than you need to.

The Powerhammer is blast damage.
And I personally would NOT recommend fencer for this, to quote (well nearly quote) a (dark-)jedi that I know: "The only profession that has a chance to beat me is TKM" (he's a bit further down the jedi path). And he nearly always wears stun-layered armor (to be ready for those sonic blaster wielding bountyhunter/pistoleers), so the AP0(!) stunbaton of the fencer is not THAT helpful.

Calc is right, You'll won't be able to kill Jedi if you spend skill points on Ranger, you simply won't have the combat abilities.
As a Ranger/Swordsman though I feel I have to speak up. It's a fun combo and since both classes are good in PVE you can be an excellent big game hunter, even solo.
Running around Dathomir I can solo Rancor missions. Making sure I'm concealed I'll stalk the lair, wait for one to get far enough away from the pack, throw a trap from 49m to lure him out into 1 on 1 and then hack away with my powerhammer. Repeat the process, get a mad harvest, make some cash and then setup camp to heal. All without buffs or uber armor or some l33t speak idiot template, just good tactics.
Its not the most glorious way to play but I have fun...

A Master Ranger can beat a Jedi. They just need to make sure they fight tactically. Low level Jedi don't do too much damage if you wear high kinetic armor. Get nicely buffed, bring along a good selection of food (like the damage limiting stuff), and a nice weapon and you can win. With a good Jawa Ion Rifle, no composite armor will do much (I've never even seen stun composite with 50% resist and the Jawa is light AP). Buffs will keep the stat use down. Armor and food will protect you from damage. Yes, you would be better off with a defense stacked template including high damage output. But, one on one, most Jedi can be taken down with a bit of planning. And the terrain negotiation really helps if you find them on hilly ground (well, the Scout TN does).
