Thread: Former Ranger

the new thread about this forum and how great you guys are at discussing things got me really wanting to ask a question... but i didn't want to ruin that thread, so:

how do you guys feel about "former rangers?"... i know there are an awful lot of us who post here, someday hoping for something worthwhile to return to... everyday there are posts by people reluctantly dropping the ranger profession, but saying that they will keep an eye on things... does it bother you when they speak up, as though they too were still sacrificing skill points to the profession?

some of us really consider ourselves rangers, even if we don't have the titles... we don't necessarily want "uberness," we just want more than "scouting"... personally, i'm waiting for any change to come back to ranger... anything that changes ranger directly, i'll have to try out just to see if it was enough...

basically, do you guys wantthe former rangers to keeptheir mouths shut, or do you like thatthey want to discuss things and try to shape the path of the ranger?

i know, people can post whatever and wherever they want to... but this is such a great forum, i'd like to keep it that way... even i get tired of the "rangers have no purpose" posts by all of us not-rangers...

I am a Scout 4-0-4-0 and I always come to the Ranger forum first when I get here. I am waiting for that reason to come back. I had been a Master Ranger for over 2 months and think that time gives me a good enough idea as to what goes on and I can post an opinion or suggestion.

The thing is too about these forums is that they are mainly mature(cept JB of course ) and just about everyone is received quite nicely. Even with suggestions from other professions(ie, BioEngineers and Creature Handlers) that arent liked they rarely get flamed.

Remeber, its not the skill points that makes the Ranger. Its the attitude towards the wilderness. The unending patience and love of the land.

I think we like former Rangers just fine (unless the post about grinding ). We like them better when the decide to re-master. In general, any profession is welcome here as long as they don't ask for us to nerf ourselves (and even then, they are welcome, they just don't get a warm reception). People who post before thinking need to be the most worried. We feed them to the rasps .

Quite easily. Give Jedis harvesting or implement harvesting farms.

And I don't care what profession you have when posting as long as you are makinga reasoned argument. I mind posts like "Give Jedis harvesting because Rangers can't keep up with the demand and we need money!" Just try and make sure you don't beat a dead horse too often (i.e. go do a search before posting an idea that has been beaten to death). Although, in reality, just post what you want. These are "public" forums. We don't own them. But think about how you (or others)would react to a post before you make it.

glad to hear it... i was a ranger for about 3 months (left at the end of october), and i never grindedany part of it... i left for all the reasons that all the other passionate wanna-be rangers left, and for all the reasonsstated in the posts where weharvest thedead horse (cause we sure can't beat one)...

but i don't want to offend those of you who stick with it, spending all the points to maintain the right to being called "ranger"...
