I must admit i tried to keep an open mind after reading the comments in the forumn but i swear the straw that broke my back was on dath...i had a +13 mask scent clothing and was using the CAMO kit....for the planet...and could not fly 200m without getting detected! Talk about being pissed off.....(this on top of the other issues)

Guess we should all be crawling around on our bellies for maximum camo effect?

Now how well does it work if you aren't a Bothan? Aren't a Master Ranger? Don't have BE enhanced clothing?
i just recently became a master ranger.... last night in fact. tonight i headed off to dathomir for a bit of hunting. i was in a large group of people spread out hunting across the galaxy, so getting 2 enraged rancor lairs was no problem. i crept up on the lair, applied a camo kit and crawled prone until one of the rancors was in range of my rifle. just as i was about to open fire the creature detected me. i pulled back, reapplied camo and tried again. same thing happened. all night long i was detected over and over while camo'd up. i found mask scent to be more reliable than camo. not to mention mask scent doesn't require crafting.
now i just got master ranger last night, and all the time i spent grinding to make master i thought i was really going to like being a ranger, but now i'm not so sure. aside from flaws with the camo and the disappointing amount of organics we can harvest, i haven't really found very much use for the tracking skills, and the high tech field base is really nothing but a larger version of every other camp with some extra eye candy.
i want to give ranger a fair shot, but i can't think of any feature in the profession that balances the cost in skill points. i have a feeling ranger will soon be dropped in favor of a better combination of skills unless i can find some use for my skills.

Alright then, as a Bothan Master Ranger with BE enhanced clothing, I'd like to say: every kreetle I come across breaks my camo. This is an exaggeration to be sure, but it *does* happen often enough that I begin to wonder what the point of the skill really is other than to waste resources on. I've made massive factory runs of camo kits and now they just sit and collect dust because I find I don't need them.

I totally agree with you here -- if camo sticks, it lasts for 30 minutes, which is really nice, but it seems to break far too often. I only really use camo kits when I'm hunting with other people and I get annoyed because their maskscent keeps breaking, so I camo them, but no -- the camo never really outlasts the speeder trip between missions. I don't have a gripe with your complaint -- I can accept camo breaking on speeder-bike as a reasonable trade-off; that is, if you want to stay stealthy, then maybe you shouldn't hopon the speeder.
