Howdy all... I'd check this out myself, but I'm stuck out of game at the moment. I've read that the droid acts like another person, meaning either you or the droid can harvest a kill. Is this true even if you are grouped with the droid? I know you'd both lose 40%, but that would still be better than either of you could harvest alone, specially if you are already in a group. If not, can you perhaps tell the droid to harvest a different resource than you are harvesting, i.e. you get meat, it gets hide?

they recently got rid of the 60% harvest rate when grouped with pets/droids only... so you lose nothing by only having the droid grouped...

using the droid to harvest is effectively harvesting the corpse yourself... there is some debate as to how much it takes into account your harvesting ability, but in essance the droid harvests for you if you use it... this means if you harvest, the droid cannot... and if the droid harvests, you cannot... it makes no difference if you are grouped with the droid or not...
