Anyone seen the latest state of the game address from Just-G?

It will now be Publish 11, at the least, before anything happens with us. No mini-publishes, nothing.

Thank you TH and Just-G, for confirming your hatred of the Ranger and for confirming at least that we do not matter to you or the rest of the developers despite your repeated requests for "how do you envision a Ranger in SWG" threads.

A clever ploy. They ignore us and hope we go away. Good in the sense that only the real believers will be left, bad in that the masses think I want to harvest for them 24/7.

Oh well.

Maybe we can find where they really live and paint their houses a truely awful salmon color. Or mow obscene designs in their yards.

Yep...while I reluctantly like the player city idea.... in concept...

In reality it has urbanized the wilderness and left very few places where I can hide from everyone and just be a ranger.

The sad irony:
Rangers have so much potential, I dont think that the devs can really settle and focus on what we should be...so they ask us "what do you want to be"...we reply "The Outdoorsman" the devs ponder it...and think of...ooooh trapping droids...that'll make everyone happy. We say fix traps first, then put them in a droid.

Ah well.... I have officially given up hope that we will get love before the Space Expansion, so I will continue on my merry way...If we get a mini-publish, great, they cant disappoint me if i dont expect anything.

No matter how hard i try to not expect anything, i still feel bitter.

I expect most rangers are dissapointed 24/7, seeing us ignored again again just makes it worse.

ROFL! Excellent thinking.

You could even extend it to the whole of SWG, eh?

I hope we all can wait a year for anything to come our way. There is nothing worse than having your own bad predictions come true. I too have given up all hope.

I have said many many times that I will always be a Ranger. I feel naked without it. Maybe it is the aura of respect that title commands, just the same as squad leader. Ranger is not a profession for the power gamers or those that lack patience. If someone came up to me and asked me what being a Ranger is like and if it is worth it, my answer would be "I don't truly know what being a Ranger is like in this game. We currently lack the skills to be true Rangers. And no, it is not worth it. Unless of course you really have it in your mind that this is truly the profession for you."

I will tell those unsure of what profession to take, that Rangers is not an easy path right now. If you want to remain one, you will have to be patient and understanding of the devs current position. They don't hate us. They have priorities that they must attend to. Ranger is simply not one of them right now. TH came to the forums and gave us a heads up on how long it might be. For a long time that was all we wanted. Now that we got the answer, no one is happy about it. I can understand how everyone is upset, but we got what we asked for...a dev response. We didn't ask for an immediate revamp. We asked for some communication and an acknowledgement that we exist. We got what we asked for.

I will admit that patience is not one of my stronger qualities, but in this case, I will try my best to remain patient and not get upset. I exist right now, to help those who need help on my server. From new players with questions that I can answer or perhaps guide them down the path to their hearts desire. Old friends who simply need me to tag along and train them in Ranger as they work up their skill on a Rancor hunt. Even something as simple as morale when I throw up some eye candy in the form of a HTFB while defending a rebel base, just to give the troops something to take their mind off of the impending attacks.I don't have the skills to be strong in PvP. I'm just a Master Fencer. But I do what I can to help out. That is my lot in life as Reyune Edredis right now. Someday I will be given the skills to make Reyune a true Ranger, but for now, I am simply a helper with the title of Master Ranger under my name.

i wish i coud give you more than 5 stars... this is exactly what a ranger is to me... you have said it better than i ever could, and i've been sitting here trying to find a way to say that for a while now...

my trouble is, i feel like a ranger, but i can't have the titles because i am more helpful to my crew as not-a-ranger... it really tears me apart...

you really hit the nail on the head for me... thanks

Rohm...

perfect...

I know exactly how you feel. When I dropped ranger, and then scout, I felt naked and strange. It was as if something in the game no longer appealed to me. I could kill anything with my uber template, but I could not create or participate in something other than killing.

Being a ranger allows me to play the game the way I want to, and with TH's response, Im hoping that some good things will come to us soon.

I completely agree. Although I find that I can still be effective in PvE with most groups I hunt with. As it is, I play solo the majority of the time and still don't feel locked out of any content. If I can solo the Geonosian Dungeon unbuffed and unarmored, I don't really need more (although it was really hard and slow--I crawled most of the way and didn't kill overly much but I did take down the Acklay). I haven't had the time to properly try the Corvette but, from the brief trip I took up there the day it opened, I can probably handle it (although I will probably need to take armor and buffs). The combat templates are more about PvE speed and PvP survivability. In terms of killing stuff, I can probably kill more difficult creatures than a template player only because of tactics (especially if you send us out unbuffed and unarmored). And I'm not talking about using concealshot for it.
