Not sure if this idea has been tossed out. I know I have seen the not showing up on radar thing(which we know wont happen).

But what about this. Until your camo is broken you DON'T show as Overt. EVen if you are. So if you Camo is working you are seen by EVERYONE else as just another blue dot. But you are not.

Comments?

This idea might actually work.

There's been a lot of good ideas about camo in PvP, but unfortanetly most of them aren't feasable. Fred's stealth proposal is one of the best resources I know of to explain the whole issue. If I understand correctly, your idea could work if the camo'ed Ranger is treated by the game as an instant faction recruiter, who can change over / covert status on the fly.

There are 10 types of people in this world... those who know binary and those who don't.

Scarin - Eclipse Master Ranger / Master Swordsman
Siarra Oman - Noob scout on Wanderhome, home of the great ranger meet up.

Yes.. him or anyone he allied camo to. But he is overt the whole time. Just that until the camo is broken(however the system actually determines that) others see him as normal...

The closer and more direct the action the camo'd person takes would also dictate if the camo was in effect. ie.. a sniper at 64m camo'd in cover and prone would be a LOT harder to get uncovered then a TKM in your face hitting you(who lets face it would lose his camo on the first swing).

But that is the basics of my idea anyway..

First, as a previous poster stated, the idea is not new. Second, there are hacks about that snif the packets comming in, as well as watch memory locations within your games process that will defeat some of this. Third, the proper thread to do this kind of discussion id here.
