I've been a Ranger since July of 03, and in that time, all we got was Tracking and Camo Kits. BFD!!!! How many more months need to go by?? It's going to be sad that in 16 more months, this will be the same topic of complainton this forum. For the love of God, please make this class better. And don't tell me there a lot of great ideas floating around. Give me something concrete for the mouth of a dev. I love being a Ranger, but like so many already know, it's a usless class. Ya the HTFB looks nice, but a novice medic with a basic camp can heal wounds faster.

A novice medic SHOULD beat an HTFB's healing no matter the mod.
But your preaching to the choir. It will at least have to wait for the combat balance and smuggler revamp plus any jedi issues such as their fingernails looking bad before its our turn.

I think we know all there is to know at this point. We know whats big and on their plate, and we know there will be no such thing as a revamp until after it is done. We also know that Calc, as well as all other Corrs, are trying anyway.
(/hands Calculus a chainsaw. Go get 'em!).
Anyway, today JTL goes live. I think for the next couple days the developers will be catching up on some long neglected sleep time.
So your answer is many month I guess. Unless Calc can wheedle in some changes as hotfixes. /crossfingers
Personally, I think Tracking and Camo are a BFD. Only a percentage of what we expected... especially in a time period as long as this, but still a thing worth having.
So... play and have fun! And wait. But you had probably suspected that already.

Aye. I'm thinking Calc might manage to cammo some fixes so they slip in with the combat revamp, but and real significant changes are going to be several more months. My impression from what I'm hearing in these forums is:
- devs are currently mostly collapsed due to exhaustion
- combat revamp info and sandbox testing details are coming very soon
- current focus for the next two to threeweeks is on jtl/publish 11 stuff.
After that the combat revamp will probably kick in. After that completes, next on the list is the Squad Leader revamp and Smuggler revamp.
Then after that the devs can start hitting other professions while begining work on the GCW revamp. So, I'm guessing February or March as the absolute earliest we can possibly receive some revamp attention.

We don't need to worry. Some day we will be better and then we will know we have been here through thick and thin.

at the least an announcement of fixes planned for ranger should be in the making since im here now
, at least based on my profession history thus far:
started CM (broken schems, some items could craft but not use, factory issues, etc), finally fixed that
worked on my 2nd love, carbineer - poor, poor carbineers, very few working specials, couldnt even spell our title correctly
, but a revamp came for them
grew tired of CM, tried BE (got about halfway up this, saw a lot of potential, but too much crafting for me), they got reworked as I was leaving
Decided to work on Pikeman (with this choice, my guild named me master of broken professions
), I didnt stick around to see how much was improved, but supposedly theyre actually a viable class now
and Finally worked on Squad leader, got about 3/4ths of this when they announced a revamp to come 'soon' and I retired

Man trin you should start auctioning that kind of luck around!
We have an old document... but lets just say if it were in the Sarlaac's belly ... it'd be just about digested.
I'm sure we'll be getting attention soon enough. I wouldn't be surprised if some of it came sooner than we expected.

Trin....and now CMs are getting nerfed. What does that say about our chances... j/k good to have a new ranger. BTW what's your secret do you bribe the devs?

Speak for yourself, I like feeling all dirty and brutish.
/Agree about Paks though ![]()
As for Stile2112's original question, yeah it's gonna be a while. However, at least we get the kudos and wonder-lust from other players regardless of what we can actually do. Gotta be worth something ![]()
Mind you though, if anything shoud be hotfixed, it's the time it takes to grind Frontieering!

I hear that some females of various species like it when the males are brutish.

Being brutish is one thing. However, Rangers with oily unwashed hair *cough "Aragorn" cough* tend to make people wonder. Remember you can be a ranger and still wash in ariver.
