Here is the second daily idea from Trobon of Eclipse. Remember the point of this is to get peoples ideas flowing. I know rangers usually do, but just in case, post consideratly. And please give feedback and suggestions for the daily idea.
Today's Idea:
Track: Condition
Rangers have the unique ability to to track animals and people. As they grow in experience they learn how to tell what direction an animal or person is and how far they are. In a lot of stories and games rangers have the ability to tell things about a creature by their trail. They are able to pick up if a creature has a limp and can find tiny traces of blood.
Rangers in SWG should be able to do this as well. Here's how it could be done. Master Rangers are able to use this abilty. Once you have this ability you will be able to use it whenever you track anything. Once you have the list of things you want to track you would be able to choose one of them. Once it is chosen you would get a few pieces of info on them. The pieces of info could be what its HAM, if it has any states and if it currently under attack.
So what do you all think?

I think it would be really interesting to see some of the "tracking" line expanded. adding an "Examine" command onto the areatrack window might be one way of doing it.
/areatrack players ... /examine Wyndinn ...
Proximity wouldn't be as much an issue because the ranger could determine certain things from the tracks.
Concerning the "Creatre Knowledge" type information. I've always felt that an expanded usefullness of creature knowledge should include a "small ... medium ... healthy" rating of the creature that was being examined.

As far as that goes, I think there is some information we should always know about creatures. Perhaps a log could be added to our datapad that would store info about creatures we've hunted. If one graul has leathery hide and carnivore meat, they all will. We should be able to recall that information at will, not just when within (however many) meters of the creature.
