Thread: Best Harvesting results solo group or plain solo?

A Solo group gets you more mobs per spawn wave if you're doing missions for your desired harvestable but it also gives you less units per mob. Does the end result even out when you compare doing missions in a solo group or just plain solo?
The feeling I have from some numbers I've seen is that it doesn't matter.
Anyone know?

I never hunt with a solo group for one main reason. Natural spawns. If your in a solo group and you come upon a natural spawn your still taking the penalty for being in a group.
If your really want to get the most with this line of thinking. Get some CH and then call your droid and pet when you get missions. IF you know a safe place to get missions you could even add a faction pet to the mix as well. Remember as soon as you hit Novice CH you are no-longer limited to one of each type. You are allowed one of each now. SO one pet, one droid, one faction pet. And where a droid wont add to your levels alone it will when your in a group.
To answer your orignal question. Yeah a solo group will spawn more so your total haul should be higher then if you go the single mission. But I, and i believe most of us, still do it without the solo mission because of the penalty doesnt feel liek it outweighs the benefits of having to find a large group

I believe pets and droids no longer increase the level of mission you can get from a terminal. You cant pull out a combat droid and that level 50 nuna and pull enraged rancor missions, you still only get missions based on your own combat level.

I agree with Fodder. I never solo group if I am looking for harvest.
Case in point, Endor. Good herbie on my server. I go there, run two missions solo and get just over 1k of meat. Pop a few random spawns of Bol and I have 2-3k. Solo grouped I would be getting about the same missions, and 40% less meat and way less money.
Solo groups are for those people too stupid to know what to do to earn money.

1, If your in a group with, have 3 or more.. yes 2 is worse than 1 but 3+ will blow1 away..
2, If your hunting from missions your haul sucks big fambaa ****&, Every ranger knows and if they dont then they do now that natuaral spawns produce 10 times the haul than any crap mission spawn could dream of..
3, any ranger that just uses missions to grab a haul IMO should not even consiter themselves a ranger SKILL POINTS dont make you a ranger.. how you hunt does..

So what your'e all saying is that the random spawns are the best for harvesting then comes solo missions and last comes solo group missions.
Did I understand this correctly?

Solo groups should even come into it. If you find the ranger dream, two or more wild lairs next to each other, then being in a solo group wont help you at all. Its going to cripple you. Dump the group completely unless you are hunting with fellow rangers and are pooling resources at the end.

Having soloed in groups and soloed, i would say soloing (ie by yourself) is more worth it (especialy with veghash and a 110 harvest driod 
)

Nope, never pick on noobs, unless they ask for macros.
One point tho -
I like to hunt off of missions for the guaranteed income. I do my two happy missions, guaranteed I will be getting at least some harvest, then try and find spawn. Yes, random spawn kick ass on sheer numbers - mission = 9 (solo not solo group) while random = who knows? I have seen 25+ out of one random. But what if you are hunting something that you can get solo mission and that is pretty rare or hard to find otherwise. It happens, not often but it does.
Besides, if you are hunting a decent planet - Endor say - you can get 20k creds in your pocket before you have sold any harvest (JB loves Endor and Endor herbie meat). Worst case says I sell it for 10cpu to a local "butcher". Best case is what the market will bear.
Regardless, thats 20k in my pocketbefore any sales have taken place - and the xp is good too.

Hrmm think i'll need to start hunting endorian herb for a few chef's i buy stock off of, had enough of hunting hurrtons and thune, though hasn't it been on the server for awhile as high?

I have done both and have found that being in a group of 19 ppl will, if I leave my bike out and haul ass between missions, I collect much more than if I solo it. Slinking voritor hunters for example give me 297 meat per harvest sans group, in a full group I get about 170, WOW most or all will say thats ALOT less, and it is, but without that group I almost always find only 4 or 5 lairs of them in an hour. Being in a full group I get Voritor Hunters Lairs EVERY time I get missions. I speed to the lair, kill quick and move on, am MTK/MRanger so its not that hard to finish the lair fast. Ungrouped I can only get voritor Dasher missions that give about 110 MPH(Meat Per Harvest)
