There seems to be alot of requests for Rangers these days. Just wondering if anyone knows why. Just wierd timing maybe? Maybe it's a Hawtpants plot to stir up negativity? Or maybe, just maybe it's the forum Overkreetle setting out to destroy us. If it's you Mr Overkreetle just remember one thing...
I'M ON TO YOU!

Maybe it has to do with the number of people doing quests and can't find the stuff they need to complete them, so they need to call in the highly trained ones.

I was just thinking the same thing... there area few out-of-place threads here asking for rangers for hire. My bet is that now that we're in the 6th phase, lots of people are working on Jedi and aren't too into the PvE thing right now.
all I know is that I'm having SWG withdrawl because I can't play again until the new year. Aaarg.

The reason im doing the quests myself is because the resourse shifts have DIED there is absolutely nothing of value to hunt on my server

I think it's a combination of people making Jedi, poor harvesting (not a lot of shifts over the holidays) and people want to try and drop the big creatures.
I told a Ranger buddy last night that I had been running around with Novice Medic on Endor. Still didn't stop all the requests, as some people know what I really am, but most requests stopped.
It's early yet, but so far this week I have been asked to track Kimo's, Graul Marauders, and Krayts. I just hide in space usually.

Trade requests are like rats. You let one in, suddenly there's a flood of them. One on it's own can look kinda cute and you can keep it clean and well fed, train it to do tricks and all, but a whole room full of them starts to stink the place up.
I'll be honest, I do feel a bit guilty about slapping a 'trade request to trade forum' on them, for the most part there's no malice there, just laziness or overenthusiasm on the part of the poster. That and I'm one of the worst offenders for OT posts round about here, but, it IS a community forum and not the trade forum. Rules is rules.

Be nice to the visitors, be polite. We are, after all, the coolest profession around. Also, they ARE looking for a ranger and flaming them (even gently) could end up with a ranger losing out on some business on their server.
Politely point them in the direction of the trade forum, mention the No Trade sticky, and, if they have given one of those wonderful vague 'I want to hire a ranger' posts, point them to the 'hiring rangers' guide. After all, a better educated customer base will be a better customer base for us as a community, huh?

*wave Deadtech-- i replied to your PM a few weeks back bro!
Well-- at least on flurry..it's from the so-called Solo Group Nerf. Not so much
the Ranger but scouts have picked up in thats it's a FOTM. Also-- with the AS, Chefs
and Docs putting posts of Wooly Hides at 250 CPU or 200 CPU for this and that..
it's easy money. And it is.
It's pretty much a bandwagon atmosphere on Flurry...my guild.. Old School was on this
before the so-called nerf and will be after. ;-)
