Thread: I'm not a very good Ranger.

I've walked through the shifting sands of Tatooine learning the ways of the boar, the pirates, the moisture farmer, and the bounty hunter. I know their haunts and can find them on a whim. I've camped by the lakes and fished from their shores.

I've walked on every beautiful blade of Nabooian grass in search of the mighty albatross, and have learned his patterns well. I've tracked every creature from the northern shores to the southern swamps to the mountains that border each side. I know where to find the illegally imported Corellian Butterflies that roam wild in the central regions.

I've danced in the burning lava of Lok and drug the fierce Giant Dune Kimogila through lairs of meatshields while bleeding his mind dry. I've learned to finesse the Gurk lairs to entice the Reclusive Gurk King out of hiding. I've scavenged his bones and worn his hide.

I've spent countless hours on Talus harvesting truckloads of avian meat and Aakuan body parts. I've camped with the Vicious Huf Duns and tamed the mighty Greater Sludge Panther.

I've been to the four corners of Endor and bested the unruly Gorax with nothing but a T21 and a lot of luck. I've seen the barren green plains, the vast desert, and climbed the highest snow covered peaks.

I've crawled on my belly through sickening fields of pink fairy flowers on Dantooine tracking and eradicating the plague of roaming force users. I've spent hours in the saddle of my trusty Kaadu searching for clues of the elusive Graul Marauder.

I've killed the Woolamanders in their own home on Yavin and know the "other place" to find the Crazed Geonosians, enhanced Klikniks, and enhanced Kwi. I know the Black Sun well as I have traded many shots with them and looted their lifeless corpses for, well, nothing. Ever. Not a single piece of loot from those stingy warriors, yet I still persist.

I've walked without fear through hordes of enraged rancors, plucked bile from the foul sarlacc, and seen the rusty hull of the escape pod. I've been witness to furious battles between the Nightsisters and the Singing Mountain Clan and stood over the broken and bleeding corpse of the Nightsister Elder.

I've found the fabled "wild spawn" on Rori and I've even left the Coronet starport to see the Corellian countryside I had heard rumors of. It does actually exist, but it is a horrid place, infested with housing, and nowhere I ever want to visit again.

So why am I not a very good Ranger?

If I walk more than 100M from my bike and it disappears from the radar, I just accept that it is gone because I can wander for hours and not find where I parked it. What I wouldn't give for /areatrack vehicle.

I think you have just expressed the 1 question all rangers have. "Where did I park?"

That's the beautiful thing about a mount. If I can't remember where I left it, I can just /yell follow and my transportation comes to me.

What they said!

My second favorite is trying to ride the wrong bike when travelling in a group! Thank goodness for customization kits (though I still have some problems...).

So does this mean that even though I have done none what he described (rangering on the different planets)

... but I can find my bike easily and remember where I parked it.

Does that make me a good Ranger?

Awesome post by the way.

LOL, I got into the habit of /waving as I dismounted to stop the flipping thing warping, or me warping.

Then, once they fixed that and made bikes callable / storable from the F keys, you'd see this idiot ranger screech up near the target lair, his bike vanish from under him, his arms waggle about above his head as he carried on running about 20m before hitting the ground in the prone firing position...

OMG I'm Mr Bean?

You would qualify as a good ranger.

I still get my east/west mixed up.

Maybe one day I'll successfully track something but I doubt it.

P.S. - Black Sun on Dath drop better than on Yavin and are more plentiful, but even those I can't track, I have to get lucky and stumble on them.
