Thread: Harvesting Hide Boots?

I am Getting this as well, but mine just states that I can not extract the resorces from the creature. its been like that for about a week now and I have tried everything I can think of to fix it even made new keys but seems only way Im able to harvest is to use the dial. (sigh) how am I supose to keep these great Ranger love handles if I have to do all this work =(

The "you can't harvest from {namestring} " has been in for a while, also, trying to tip somebody when am in the guild hall can be a pain as I'll get told I can't tip X's backpack. (THey have named packs for stuffing stuff in)
Oh, just remembered, I can get this up to 100m from our houses... "You can't harvest from Bone Armor {item}" because theres something called Bone Armor in one of the houses.
/bug it. It'll get added to the list of known issues. One day somebody will figure out who undid what was fixed before and sort it.

Are we missing the simple solution? Dump the hide boots already.
Yeah, it's a bug. Work around it.
If not by strength then by guile.

Like many Rangers, I have a macro to harvest resources that's mapped to a key. Last night, I killed a rogue falumpaset and hit the key to take it's hide. Instead I got the message "You cannot extract resources from Hide Boots in your current state." I scratched my head but noticed that I was stunned. So I waited for the state to wear off and tried again. Same message. I used the radial and harvested fine. I waited for the next one to spawn, and after killing it, typed /harvest hide. I get, "You cannot extract resources from Hide Boots in your current state." More head scratching. I type /harvest meat and it works.
I have Hide Boots in my inventory (but not on my feet), and it seems to think I want to take the hide from them and not the corpse of the creature I'm targeting.
Anyone else see this?

It can happen if there is someone in your group with the name meat hide or bone as well.

Happy New Year to you too, JB. From your other posts, I'd thought you'd gone soft.
Already, /bugged it. I was just curious about why the boots were setting it off, but not the bone resources in my inventory. I'm going to try putting it in my backpack and see if it still happens. I don't want to get rid of them because of a bug. I like my boots; they match the rest of my outfit (/model). I usually use my droid which is why I hadn't seen it before.
