I know there is a post in here somewhere, where someone mentioned getting a combat droid or pets for pulling creatures. I took his suggestion and bought myself a droid. Granted his CL shows up as 18, but he works just fine for the purpose that I use him for.

Tatooine Carn meat is particularly fine right now and I really could not be bothered to spend 2 hrs to put together a group which would probably fall apaprt after 2 missions or so. Plus I wanted to see how well my droid could help me out while solo. So Off I go tatooine.

So here I am, at Mos Vegas in tatooine and I take 2 missions for squills 1 lvl 82 and 1 lvl 80. I start heading towards one of my missions when I chance across a lair which a HUGE number of squill spawns. But do you know what the best part was??? They were lvl 80!!!! I think it was a group mission for some mission and never got completed. I didnt want to steal someone else's mission plus I had to run some RL things, so I go to park moyself 250m out and I go afk for abt 30 mins come back and yep definitely an aborted mission.

So I whip out my droid and made sure I was about 80-90mts from the squill I was pulling. I followed the suggestion from the post I mentioned above, i.e. I would tell my droid to attack and then immediately to follow me. This made just that squill aggro my droid and come towards me. As soon as it was within range, stopping shot then alternate between advanced critical and improved body shot until root wore off (by which time it was less than 1/4 health). Then I would allow it come just about 14m,then improved underhand shot for knockdown and 2 more crit/body shots to kill it and I can harvest it without having to move AT ALL. Also by the time I finished with the lai I had the timing down so perfect, that I noticed that unless my root didn't stick none of the squills ever touched me. Just sat down for about 2-3 seconds for action to catch up and back into action. There was VERY little downtime.

At the end of it, I must have made around 200k pistols xp, think around 20k combat xp and 11k carn meat from 1 lair. Read 11k----->1 lair----->dont even have hunting 1. That definitely ROCKED. Times like this I wonder why I dropped ranger .

Nope not boring at all. This is what I do with my droid and pets. Works great, unless I have a brain fart or get a bit cocky and get in over my head. But it works, it's fun, and I don't have to rely on a group that breaks up after 10 minutes.

Most of the guys I hang with are from the UK so I tend to solo a lot because of that, as they're heading to bed when I get home from work, and this works out well.

It's good to hear that anyone is having a good time lately. I myself have been having a blast trying similar techniques on Kashyyyk, in Etyyy. Fun stuff- I have been using a trap droid to launch a P-Dart, so a critter agros him, then I launch the second simultaneously and I have an instant +root+. Then... blast away!

Although I am kind of dissapointed- I have ONE good move, the 2nd Headshot, and it is the only one I use since kneecap doesn't do anything. But I will try out a few more moves too, just to mix it up.

I've been spending alot of time on Yavin myself. Not getting too much along the lines of rifle/combat xp but the scout xp is rolling in. Also, the meat there is just great. Especially the carnivore meat. Got about 90k presently. Gonna see how much I can get before it shifts.
