This is not directed at anyone in specific, rather it is a gentle reminder from an old guy who's learned a few tricks along the way.

Anyway... Three quick things to think about.

1. Trolls: Traditionally you kill trolls with fire. While flames may work in the stories, the best way to get rid of a troll in a forum is to ignore them. If no one responds to them then they can only bump themselves and make themselves look more silly.


2. Bretheren: Every Ranger plays the game a bit differently. Just because you think something is a bad idea doesn't make another Ranger who likes it a traitor, troll, noob or objectionable chapeau. Agreeing to disagree is always an acceptable approach.


3. Focus: Owen is one of the most motivated and accomplished Cor's I've ever seen (Calc's still my Lizard too!). We can help him immensely by focusing our ideas in this forum and in any Developer Thread announcing information pertaining to us. That doesn't mean don't participate in other threads in other boards! It just means that if a person says something in another board there's no reason to take the discussion there. A polite "uh no read this Clicky" will correct any misrepresentations and direct interested readers to our board for a true sampling of our ideas.

It's our way to stay level headed and work through predicaments. Things are going to get bad as our revamp approaches. Things aren't going to work, things are going to get shifted around, and things are going to get really confused. Be ready for it and don't let it get to you.

We have been incredibly good about being calm, collected and focused in the past. That's how we got CL integrated into our profession. Slowly, carefully, and methodically making our arguments.

Forum trolls are an evolved form of troll that has learned to feed and flourish on flames. The easiest way to take care of trolls is by using that small report button at the bottom of every post. The first few hits will usually just remove or lock the post in question, killing the troll's food source. After a few report clicks, the CSR mob will come along with their bansticks (sort of like pitch forks, but with a stun mode) to scare the troll away. This will usually scare the troll away for a few days. If they do bother to come back, the bansticks are set to kill mode and the troll is seen no more.
