Thread: New Master Ranger, and an idea
Made Master on Saturday afternoon after grinding camps all evening Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning.
Well.... hmmm... errr...
I find myself asking myself: so what? BFD!
Now I'll probably never build a camp again...
At any rate, I digress.
I had an idea at work today. It's probably already been thought of and posted here, but I thought I'd post it again, because we shouldn't let our ideas get buried.
A little background: My wife plays (yes, she does. awesome for me, I know) a doctor. She requires a constant supply of high quality biologicals (meats are great). Well I blew about half of Sunday running around all the planets in the galaxy killing every creature I could find, and checking the quality of it's meat. Turns out I found that the wild and insect meat on Tatooine is outstanding right now. So the rest of my afternoon was spent killing rock beetles and mutant womp rats harvesting meat. I am at the point where killing these things yields me absolutely no XP (well 1 XP), but I killed and killed until I had harvested about 2K of (very high quality) meat.
So for my carbine grind, this did me nothing.
What is the point this long winded story, you ask? Simply put, I think rangers (and ONLY rangers for crying out loud) should have TRAPS, in the classic sense of the word. I go to tatooine, kill one rock beetle and.... whoa 998 OQ, 950 PE! I put down a trap which is like a mineral harvester in every way, except I can collect the hides/bones/meats of my choosing.
I think the trap idea goes right along with our much wanted "tracking" skill. We would have a tool or skill that allows us to detect "concentrations" of animals much as the surveyor detects concentrations of minerals/chemicals. Two birds with one stone.
