Is there a command for this? does the lair need to be cleared first?

It doesnt need to be cleared. Just do the radial menu on the lair and a new option appears. Once you get the sample get someone to make an creature habitat for it. Then well... you have a container

Is this only performed by us Aspiring Rangers? What other classes can harvest hives/lairs?

I searched 3 lairs last night, 2 I had missions for and the 3rd I did before I took out the creatures. An artisan can make habitat for any animals you find. As for the ggs I found I think I put them up for sale.

Has anyone managed to sell any of the items they harvested?

The one thing that will most likely sell is large quantities of eggs...

Eggs have been missing from the game since launch but are needed in high end recipes for various classes.... the other stuff (creature effect silliness) is just fluff .. kinda like dice and fireworks...

So SAVE THOSE EGGS!... you'll geta good price for them if you can sell them in bunches

I think someone asked this. What you can do with what you harvest from the lair like flys or bats, is give them to a Master Artisan and they can make them into a habitat and then you can release them and they fly around you, its just another worthless thing, but what sucks more, is its a worthless thing that everyone can do because anyone can harvest a lair. I think harvesting from a lair and making it into a habitat should be a ranger unique ability.

Wow, I actually sold a "sample of bees" whatever the heck that was for .... drumroll please... 50 whole creds.

If you examine this, you will find that an artisan can make this into something, more or less their words, I read it, realized it was poopie and sold the stuff. Yeah, I can make a creature container, woohoo, a container to sit in my house. Somehow this escapes me as being worthwhile.

The eggs I found can be used in the stink bombs. That must reek, old nasty spoiled eggs... poor lil monsters...heh heh... 8-). Or, I have been told that chefs need em to make stuff. Me, I eat what I find... yummy yummy, I gots bugs in my tummy...

I suggestthis before the big patch, along with creature rare items needing a ranger skill /harvest loot.

"Lair Forageing" I mean "LairSearching" should work like forage (well like it said to work), the higher your camping level the better chance of foraging up a rare. AND nothing below novice ranger should be able to to get a rare!
