Thread: Mass producing camps/traps

Ok, I'm on my way to Master Ranger but i'm getting tired of constantly using the general crafting tool to make my camps and traps.

I think it is possible to get a factory to mass produce some traps and camps so i don't have to make them individually. My character does not have any artisan skills, and i have no free skill points to place in that tree.

Is this possible? If so could someone post the means of going about this? What type of factory do I need? Any skills needed for this other than scout/ranger

Yes, I have done it with Camps and Traps. Unfortunately, I was at the time a master artisan so I could use 2 factories that I had.

I am not 100% sure, but I believe if an artisan or an owner of a factory gave you admin and hopper permissions, you could create your own crates of tents.

It was very nice. I had 4 crates in my inventory. 25 tents in each. 4 more crates, each with 25 of a specific trap.

Double-click later and an item from the crate was in my inventory.

Would be nice if they let Camps and Traps be stackable.

Stay Camps stack up to 20 and Traps stack up to 100. I dont see why not. Helps me make lots of traps ahead of time. Otherwise, I just dont have the room. (Already have to have a nice storage of Meds since I'm a Master Medic also).

You use an equipment factory. I'm not sure if you need artisan or not, but I don't think so. I did have novice artisan last time i used my factory but have since given it up. I haven't used the factory lately though because i made 600 adhesive mesh's and 200 High tech field base kits and haven't had a use for it yet

The crates contain stacks of 25, so that helps with inventory management as well.

Thanks for the info everyone.

I will talk to one of my friends who i think has a factory and beg/bribe him to let me borrow it.

How long does it take to craft a few crates?

I'm a little confused by this.

The first step toward using a factory in mass production is to create a manufacturing schematic. This requires that you stand next to a crafting station. However, I attempted to make my manufacturing schematic doing exactly this, and I was never given the option to produce the schematic. Therefore, I assumed that camps/traps were not factory produceable.

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a tool other than my Generic Crafting Tool?

Thanks for any insight.

You can't use the generic crafting tool. You have to use the Weapon, Droid, and Generic Item crafting tool (there's a difference).

Hey Crapper, (sorry I had to)

I had a similar problem in the beginning. You have to make sure you have the crafting station targeted and you are standing right next to it. If that doesn't work, I have no idea.

It usually takes a couple of hours to make 100 item (4 crates) so it's really not a long, drawn out process.

Thanks for the information, Gronchar, and the little shot at my station name.

I was definitely near the appropriate Crafting Station, so I'm not sure what the deal is. I'll try it again soon.

Regarding my station name, here's the inspiration:
