I am a master BE and CH, but thinking of dropping my whole CH line (now that the fin has been taken of it), and then get me some skills in Ranger instead, but I need some info.

I wont be able to get master Ranger, only Wayfaring IV and Field Bioscience IV, so my question is, how good can I mask my scent with this, will I be able to walk up to a frenzied graul, or a Mutated Rancor, and they then cant see me ?

I really need this so that I can get better DNA samples.

Well, Mask Scent is getting taking off Camouflage and using it's own mod, so Master Scouts will be just as good at Mask Scent than Rangers. Gotta love it!

So what you say is, i wont get anything out of getting ranger skils what so ever ?

And those extra 20 i get from master Scout, well they wont do a dang thing.

Yes, giving up CH to take Ranger is basically moving from a uber profession recently hit with the nerf bat to a profession that was beat into submission by said nerf bat before SWG ever made it to live... err, beta 4.

Ranger = MasterScout for now.... only Scouts are actually getting acknowledgment and work from the Devs.

I don't know what Pyradius has been smoking but he's just plain wrong.

Master Scout = +50 Camo

Wayfarer (i.e. top of the Wayfaring line) = +90 Camo.

That's 40 points more Camo. Will it hide you from a Rancor? I dunno, maybe. But its sure better then Master Scout.

Right now that is true, but the feedback on the Scout forum made it clear that all 100 points of maskscent will eventually be on the Scout tree - I think that is what Pyradius is smoking

that was my point exactly. Thefellow came here to ask Rangers how they ARE not how they WILL BE, or more appropriately MIGHT BE. In my expereince anything in development is subject to change.

As to how Rangers might be in a few months or more, please note that Rangers still will have the Camo skill, it just will be used for something else. Perhaps that new ability will actually be more suited to help a CH or BE with their ability to sneak up oncreatures and therefore the Wayfaring line might evenbe more attrractive to them than it is today.

The answer to this question Pre-patch is a resounding "MAYBE".

Pre-patch, as a wayfarer I was able to walk up and pet a Giant Mutant Rancor without him even blinking an Eye at me. He was found deep within the caves of a Dathomir Imperial prison. The party I was traveling with was floored by my stupidity.. haha.

Now that mask scent is broken-AKA-never/rarley fails, I would have to say try it! My money is on pure animal immunity. I walked through a nest of Grauls for 20 mins the other night without them turning their head to notice me.
