You know what this means now don't you....mass migration to ranger by all those looking for the next "BIG" thing. It will be even more competition for those hides and the like. More fighting to make sure you get to use your blinds and camps along with the rest of the 15 rangers in the group you joined. Not to be totally pessimistic, I love the ranger profession. Been at it since the beginning. (Taking my time moving up the chain) and am really excited that the Dev's has seen a more coherent future for our profession that meshes better with what the players themselves invisioned. I just also realise that we will be the next Pistol/Bountyhunter migration for players. Atleast until all professions have been balanced or another profession get the royal treatment like we are getting and get that wonderkin skill that everyone just has to have. I like the thought that for awhile, even with the problems that we where a special minority that had the faith to keep on. We knew it would come eventually and we remained. People came and went but we found our nitch and you could feel a certain amount of pride in knowing that when you did a search by profession on a planet you might find 3 or 4 other brothern keeping the faith right alonf with you. Now I envision turning around and smacking into rangers in every direction. But so be it. I have held this long and eventually the new fad profession will show it's head and they will move on. Till then, guess we will just have to get used to having alittle less elbow room.

How big the mass migration is going to be, in the end, will depend solely on how much direct usefullness the devs give Rangers in PvP. Sure, we'll probably snag a few undecideds, and maybe some who are frustrated with a profession, but the vast majority of the next big thing class switchers are PvP players looking for the best bang for their buck.

Will we see more Rangers? You bet, but we'll just have to see how things go. If SL, smugglers, and the like get just as much lovin as the same dev in charge of them has given to Scouts and Rangers recently, then they may prove to be attractive targets too. But as it stands, with only some small application to PvP, the Ranger still won't attract as huge a crowd to it, or at the very least, just dabblers.

So very true if you look at the other prof board you will already see some "Man rangers rock I want to be one." threads coming along. Or the that should have been in our tree threads. But once all the hype fades I will still be a ranger camping in the middle of no where and making it back out just because I can.

I think the great changes they have in store for us are going to take some time. So as it is going to be a gradual shift, we wont see the full on Mass Migration that can occur in an MMO when one class gets bumped up the rung a bit.

I think we will see more dabblers than full on rangers in terms of PvP. Wayfaring and Tracking trees are what the PvP's would want. Those two trees alone cost 34 skill points.

These skills IMO increase exploration benefits. If you didn't like to explore in the first place why jump on the ranger bandwagon now.

I'm sure things will calm down when other professions get their concerns answered then we can go back to be the quiet unique best kept secret in SWG that we always have been.

and for the dabblers don't forget. In order to get Novice Ranger you have to get Master Scout. . .

Most of the PvP'ers already have scouting for BH or CH anyways.

Sure more the merrier. But I realy don't see the Ranger Profession turning any single profession in to the ultimate killing machine. There is a lot of cool things with Rangers, but It will still come down to your real combat skills for PvP. A few things in Ranger will help, but not realy overpower. It will make Master Ranger a lot more desired. But getting Master Ranger is a lot of skill points. You can still Master an Elite Combat Profession, but have very little left over.

I dont think for the cost in skill points alot of people will go ranger.

But if they do that may mean I will find maybe 10 per planet instead of 3 or less
