Grind-craft camping kits. I don't remember the exact amount of XP necessary for Frontiering IV (I'm assuming you're "3" if Frontinering, but crafting Field Base Camps give you 184xp per craft. They take 25 seconds to craft (in practice or regular mode) so you can have five kits constantly banging them out. If you need, say, 40,000xp, you need to may 217 Field Base Camps. That's doable in a few hours (if you use macros during crafting). And do this while in a camp, and disband it every 24 minutes for about 1100xp.

Anyway, I just wanted to say it's not that long really, if you're willing to grind it

Plus, to me anyway, it's not that bad. I've heard a lot of griping on these boards about grinding it, but honestly I've enjoyed not grinding it. I guess I just enjoy the moment more than the end result. I kinda look at it like being in college. I know what the end result will be(graduation and money). But I'm not in a hurry to "grind it out" by going to summer semester and all. I'm enjoying the moment I have right now and when I'm done, I'm done.

I feel when you're done, that's when it begins.

I ground my way to frontiering III in a couple of hours, but then I'm used to it from the medical grind.

I'm only about 18k from frontiering IV, trapping IV I've done, I'm just looking for a way to get tracking and wayfaring out of the way as soon as possible, although I really don't want to resort to that vehicle/maskscent cheeziness I just might so I can get master done and go back to playing the way I want to (even with the new Jedi changes I've spent too much bloody time on scout/ranger to turn back now).

Haha! Yea I definately feel you there! Sometimes I think I'm living too much "in the moment". Maybe I just need a swift Trandoshan kick to the arse.

I was in the same situtation, but I just went out and hunted for the supplies needed to grind my camps while in camp. That way I got the XP for harvesting, made it to 4 on both wayfaring and tracking, plus trapping.

Made frontiering IV last night after a bit of crafting, got trapping IV in a couple of hours thanks to an equipment factory making loads of glow wire traps.

Just need another 50k scout xp and I'm mastered.

I got a bundle by whizzing around with maskscent on on a bike, something I said I'd never do, but it gave me a chance to ride around endor and yavin, both planets I've never really explored, so I put maskscent on and gained a bunch of exploration badges, so it wasn't really cheating

I am on Dathomir right now. I was in a group with three other players hunting rancors and such. I would set up a Novice Ranger camp (can't remember which camp it is right know). We would pull out our pets before a lair, bikes after the lair. The camp was only up for about 3-4 minutes. I did not even take the time to look at the status. I was hitting about 900 XP a pop. Little to no healing taking place and we were barely there long enough to catch our breath.

P.S. If you are in college and you need to grind some camping XP I have found a good solution. Find some other people you know in game that need to study. Go out in the woods somewhere with all of them and set up a camp. Read or work problems (whatever you need to do) while camping. Every 10-20 minutes (depending on what camp and how much xp you are getting) take a break and set up a new camp. You'll still be getting things done at home, and working on the painstaking task of camping at the same time. OR, find a high traffic location and set up camp. Most of the time people will drive or run through just to help you out. I found a great spot in our PA city. It is between the shuttleport and cantina, next to the hospital. Usually people know what you are doing (they remember when they did it) and will swing by. Just remember to do the same for someone else.

Warfarret,

The best way to get the tracking and wayfairing is to go to Dathomir, get in a group and hunt Rancors. For each Rancor we kill I get 1584 in survival xp. Thewayfairing and tracking were my easiest ramp ups. It's the camping (although that too is good in Rancor groups, just get your campsite up quickly at each stop for about 900-1000 xp per) that's been the toughest for me

I made master ranger last night, phew, we were hunting on Dantooine - harvesting pikets for 3-700 xp per kill and we just had a lair spawn and spawn and spawn on us, I made 30k in one fight

I've since dropped everything except tracking and that will slowly be coming off as I start to migrate back to my normal setup (master doc/master swordsman).

I wish I could say it's been fun, but I'm afraid I didn't really like the amount of work involved in mastering ranger for the payoff, it's strictly a roleplayers class at the moment (not that this is a bad thing, far from it, certainly the amount of respect I have for master rangers now has increased tenfold).
