Hi Guys,

I've only been playing for around 4 weeks and my template at the min is:

Master Scout

Ranger 2344 - Master prob next week

Marksman 44X4 - using Scoutblaster/FGW

Rifleman X1XX - using Laser/Spraystick

Medic 2X1X

Novice Creature Handler

Basically i'm wondering what to do next. I'm running really short on Points to allocated now...

I want a couple of points on CH so that i can get a Creature with good HAM to Tank the larger mob's.

I also want Rifleman eventually but i reaise it will take time

I will drop medic and use Stim B's at Novice

Obviously Scout and Ranger will have to stay

I need my Pistol now to take down the mobs that get too close and for poping the Corsec that always gets me when running out of Coro but is the trade off between sacraficing pistols for rifleman worth it?

I thought my CH was a good idea but do you think is worth the extra few points??

just another question - if i pull the aggro back the the Best camp at Master Ranger does it protect me/peace on the mob?

Thx

As a Master Ranger, you have enough points for a single Elite combat profession (e.g. rifleman) assuming you only spend skill points in marksman on rifles skills - then you have a 'massive' 18 points left to spend. There are several schools of thought on this -

some Rangers spend it on novice medic (15 points) and a level 1 skill (2 points) so they can use Stim Bs ( I think).

Others spend it on Novice Creature Handler (6 points) and then 3 skills in one tree (13 points) which allows you to have a level 19 pet.

You have 2 choices - keep novice medic or get a few CH skills. A good Bio-Engineered lvl 19 pet will be a pretty good tank against a lot of Mobs, and if you can get a steady supply of pet stims, can be a pretty good ally. Also, this gets you the ability to use some of the higher level mounts in the game - always good to see a Ranger on a mount.

Basically, I would try both (one at a time) and see which style of gameplay you prefer.

Unfortunately not.

Also - when you get into combat, your camp will disappear fairly soon afterwards.

Hi

Mastering one weapon is better than playing around with 2 or 3. Do that and you will see your combat efficiency increase immediately. Picking one weapon over another is your choice - my recommendation, pick one andgo from there. Personally, pistols are better suited for combat, but that's just me.

Too much medic. Wear BE mod clothes and stay at 1-0-0-0 at best. Bleeding defense works well. Make friends with docs and tailors and you will not be buying Stim Bs and clothes, they will be freebies.

CH, either master or get out entirely. Dabbling is a waste of points. You want a tank - and yes, people are tired of me saying this - get a droid. 4500 HAM, 40% resists and two types of damage. Kicks major butt, and no skill pts needed.

If you master a weapon, scout and Ranger, you can still have novice medic and --- drumroll pls --- 4 whole skill points left over. At worst, that is 4 FS boxes.

JB
the above is my opinion, based on my template, which happens to kick ass and take names. Users may experience side effects, such as making a ton of money, having a lot of fun, and laffing at most major creatures as you kick their butts. Some users experience an odd glowy effect and have to talk to old men. Few users are completely satisified, but when life hands you lemons, make lemonade. mmmmm lemonade

Wot JB said, master one combat prof.

I was Master Pistoller and CH 0/0/0/3, which meant I could have level 19 BE pets, they were Gurreks which could keep up with my X34, so I never had to wait to store/retrieve them, they were made by a BE in my guild who has sadly left the game, One was 8.5k health the other 9.5k, they both had 60% kinetic resistance and light armour. They did zippo damage, but that wasn't their job, their job was to get beat on whilst I fanshotted or healthshotted with my pistol, and take a huge beating they could

I am a TKM and medic 0/1/0/0, I wear ubese and drink/eat 1* Brandy, 1*Accargm and 3* Ahresa and use powerboost via a great macro I found on the TK board. I hunt unbuffed and by accident discovered that I can take down two Enraged Rancors at the same time with the occasional heal from a stim b and I found and killed an ancient bull rancor that was at 60% health from a previous fight I assume, needed lots and lots of heals to finish it off but did it. I don't use VK's the ham costs are stupid, just my fists.

One day I will be a Master Heavy Swordsman and maybe I will try Rifleman after that, but having loads of fun being a TKM at the moment.

thanks for the advice guys, lots for me to think about.....

Seen as i am halfway*lol*there i may aswell carry on with Rifleman - I think it goes better with the Ranger Profession anyway...hopefully I'll have found a decent T21 before long so can get rid of the laser and pistols and just use the T21 and Spraystick combo.

Currently i'm wearing a combination of Composite and Ubese, I think i'll just go for Ubese and get some encumrance back!

Thx

The laser rifle is your friend. It's cheaper than a T21, faster, uses less HAM, and does enough damage to let you kill most stuff anyway. When I was Master Rifleman, I used a Laser Rifle more than a T21 because the T21 was too much for most jobs.
