maybe i am beinga bit simple minded here. but as i said before, why not just give us an improved to-hit rate against creatures, liek a get around for the 100% resists. yeah, a special weap would be cool, how ever, it could take weeks to actuallize. theweapons that are on my server are nore than durable enough for roughing it, and with pikes, i have my choice of two damage types. wouldn't it be simpler to just add a to hit bounus? or a special attack that can be used with anyweapon, that is only for creatures, like a Neck Strike? or a Presision Pain hit?? and have it really change the state, and do a buck load of damage also. i just see the bow and knife ideas as a problem, one of the streingths that i have seen in the ranger prof is that aside from ranger, we are all a bit diffrent, rifles, pistols, tkm, fencer, and pikes are all represented. and each suits the player. so, if we were to add a bow, then we would have people chasing ranged mods in the combat skill, or a knife, then we would see a surge in the fencer prof, if for nothing else then to get more specials. all i am thinking is why not just have a special 'all pourpase' attack, that is special to us, and allows us to demonstraite our knowlage of creatures. that saves time for the devs, keeps us from haveing to chase skill trees, and also keeps us a diverse group, and also keeps us viable, and changable at the same time. wouldn't that be better. oh yeah, i am 0201 now, hehe making progress.

My eyes hurt.

Being constructive and helpful, can I introduce you to Mr Paragraph?

Also, and I am amongst the last people who should comment on this, but, down in the bottom right hand corner of the edit window, you may find Mr Spell Checker. (My sincere apologies and a heart felt congratulation if English isn't your first language.)

Now, back to a Creature oriented To Hit Bonus, we get a whopping +15 To Hit bonus, coupled with our superior creature knowledge, ahem. While it's tempting to assume that an increase in the To Hit bonus would be a simple thing to implement, (I am not a programmer, so really couldn't comment), it would still have to go through the normal cycle of testing and bug checking just in case it unbalanced something elsewhere.

Also, I'd be wary of advocating a 'quick fix' solution as that's just what we might end up getting given. "Throw them an increased To Hit against animals, should keep them happy and distract them from wanting Love for a while..."

While not wanting to kick off a chorus of "ranger is so broken.." there are a significant number of issues relating to the profession which have been raised time and time again and, one day, some of them may be addressed directly.

i hate to say this but english is my first language. sorry, however, i am having quite a time. i wrote that after a night and a day up, i'll fix it, still not inthe swing of college life again, but it is comeing. Haven't been in college for 14 years, and going back sucks.

but all i am saying is a special weapon really necessary, there are a ton of boards, and all are saying that it is, however i disagree. that is all. wouldn't a special weapon have to go through more steps, time, creation, and other resources? don't get me wrong, i don't want a quick fix either, i also don't want us to lose our diversity.

some of us are rifleman, pikeman, swordsman, heck, i even saw a novice commando, and a bounty hunter that had ranger skills. that is as i see it, an advantage for those of us that are, or are becoming master rangers, we can suit our combat to our playing style. we are using a profitable profession, and have valuable services to provide, but what advantage would be gained by having a weapon just for rangers? you talk of a special damage type, that is cool, really it is. i just think that it will end up with the problem of to many like templates again, like the tkm/commando, or CM/Rifleman, as then be reduced to almost being a cleche'. i don't want to see that, but that is just me, bonuses to damage, or special attacks make more since. but like i said, i'm only a novice.
