Pilot seems like sort of a bad designation for a ranger.. tono longer have their feet on the ground.

There was a fairly awful sci-fi show or miniseries that aired a few times on the Sci-Fi channel and late, late, late night local UPN called "Space Rangers". It could be quite entertaining at times, particularly to see actors from that show all (but the ostensible lead) appear on Babylon 5 in it's mid to later seasons. The ostensible lead went on to some show called Viper, which I never caught sight of, but neither did I care to try very hard.
Boone did something in one episode that I found quite entertaining. He inadvertantly offended an alien diplomat, and found himself later on in a duel that could lead to his death. The betting was fierce, so he put all his savings on the other guy to win, so that his friends could throw a large, raucous party to celebrate on Boone's death.Naturally he won the duel, but I liked the fact that meant he also lost it.
