Is it feasible to be a pistol ranger? Should I start unlearning pistol for rifle? It seems to be working fine up till now, but it seems every other ranger either is melee or rifle. What do you think?

I am a pistol ranger and have enjoyed the experience. It comes down to playstyle do you want the take down creatures from a distance, mid range, close range or hand to hand? Me I like close range but not close enough that I am staring up at the creature. I am closing in one master ranger about half second tier skills the other half third and have used no other weapon besides my trusty pistol so it is feasible and practical imho.

I too am a pistol ranger, it all comes down to personal preference right now. Maybe farther down the line if they make rifles a ranged weapon more than they are now and pistols even closer range then I/you might want toreview you preference.

I think that the carbine's potential is off the chart. Attacks that hit multiple HAM pools, hit multiple creatures the list goes on and on.

Right now I solo sharnaff's on Corellia using a combo of actionshot2 and p-darts. ActionShot2 forces a posture change (rather or not it's supposed to meaning it's bugged or brokenwe haven't figured out we just know it does) then while thesucker is kneeledI throw an adhesive mesh or a p-dart. When the critter starts moving again rinse and repeat until dead.

The weapon classes are still being worked on. I would hold on to what you have now and wait till after the major changes are complete to decide what weapon you want to use. I'm currently pistol but the idea of the hunting blinds in conjunction with cover shot may make me convert to rifle.

Currently using pistol. I too, have soloed Sharnaffs and what-not using Bleedshot (Healthshot2), Pistolwhip, traps and Bodyshot.

They have already nerfed the Pistolwhip once with this last patch, hopefully they won't mess it up in the future since it is the one thing we pistoleers seem to have that is really worth something. Disclaimer: I say that without knowing if the rest of the shots above tier 2 are better - which I assume would be.
