Ranger Archive

Well, the title pretty much says it all. I have been considering the idea of starting a Rangers only PA on my server. Though I'm sure it would be hard to get going at first, I think that it could be a lot of fun and offer great role play opportunities.

We Rangers are masters ofexploration and with that comes knowledge that other simply don't have access to they way that we do.As such we should be the first to know where things are such as: bases, caves, hunting grounds, cities, etc. So I figure why not make a PA dedicated to the art of information gathering?

Requirements

Basically the only requirement would be thatmembers would have to have Novice Ranger (except for Combat Medics or Commandos, for them Master Ranger would suffice).

Faction

Right now I think that a neutral PA taking money from both sides would better suit the role that I would prefer for this PA.

Roles

Gathering information would be our primary job, but we would of course not forget our roots, and as such we would also serve as gatherers of only the highest quality creature baes resources. As for how we would make money from various factions:

Say you're an Imperial scout looking to make a name foryourself with the Empire and you are looking to locate and destroy a rebel base or strong hold but don't have the slightest clue on where to look. Well, that's were we come in. Whether its a player or NPC controlled location that you are after we rangers would be able to either find it for you, or tell you exactly where to go.

That's just an example, but you get the basic idea. And it doesn't just stop at information or animal hides. Has anyone read the monthly story? I have heard of people paying upwards of 30k for those encoded transmision disks, gathering items and resources (especially rare ones) would also be a part of our function, as needed.

Now I know that this idea needs a lot of fine tuning, but that's where you folks come in. I would have done it myself, but the people at my job have had theinsane idea that we should be doing work... So my fellow Rangers and Role Players tell me what you think and don't hold back (keep the vegtable throwing to a minium please).

Yeah, I was looking at that one too and thinking, What?

Actually if you read it just right, it sounds like he's got a thing AGAINST CM and Commandos, and is therefore making the requirement higher.

I was actually starting to plan a Ranger PA for the NAritus Server, but I would be more than happy to associate with one that was known throughout all the SWG servers.

Oooops. Yes, that was supposed to be Master Scout for Combat Medics and Commandos.
