FONT size=3>This is the second night in a row I have logged out in disgust after having my night ruined by a ranger using this bug. I will not go into the details on how it works, unfortunately it has been well laid out on the ranger boards (how about a little mod intervention? ) but it allows rangers to attack anyone who is combat of any kind, pve or pvp. I personally am not involved in the pvp side at the moment and am trying to work my way through the problematic investigation tree. It is hard enough as it is without having someone use this bug to attack and kill me in the middle of a fight with a very red mark. This happened 2 times last night wasting most of my game time for the evening. I can put up with all of the game problems associated with starting up a game of this magnitude but allowing people to exploit a bug that directly harasses other players and not either disabling the ability till it can be fixed or openly declaring it a ban able offense is unacceptable.

YAY... The First person to EVER say a Ranger is Overpowered Where was I when we become strong all of a sudden?

Sorry...but we havent heard many come in here to tell us this...it is sort of funny.

From what I am guessing here...you are talking about our /Rescue command? Whoever picked on this guy...Crawl away fast like a good little Ranger

I'd like to offer my confession an apology to qwkdraw. I did it in game and now am doing it on the boards. It was in anchorhead and I was "playing" with the /rescue command. I mistakenly attacked him thinking he was an imperial attacking rebels when infact he was just hunting his bounty. The second time it happened I realized my error and when he sent me a very unhappy /tell I promised not to do it any more and tipped him 25,000 credits. I don't feel that excuses my behavior and my only defense is that I thought he was looking for PVP. Had I paid just a little more attention I would have noticed his target was an NPC and not a rebel. I agree this bug/exploit/skill needs to be fixed. I am not a griefer by nature, infact I pride myself on being very helpful to other players. I hope this public apology will mean more than just my lame attempts at forgiveness in game.

Taurin the dev messaged me yesterday in response to my exploit ticket to let me know that they've identified a bug and are working to fix it asap...

So its getting fixed... just try to refrain from killing innocents until its done.

I'm not sure which is more impressive, the $25,000 cred tip and aopology, or the public confession and apology. I have not seen very many players step up to the plate and state for everyone, "I did it, and I'm sorry."

It does need to be fixed. But hopefully qwkdraw will accept the apology, (particularly if he took the money) and post saying all is frgiven.

The apology in and of itself was a classy act. Hopefully we will see more people doing it.

Form you there is no apology necessary. Your attitude last night conveyed that you intended no harm and would not do it again. I did in the letter I wrote to SOE mentioned that should they look into any logs ext that in your case any negative action was not wanted or needed and would be a huge mistake on their part, the game needs good socially minded players. You meant no malice and I hope to meet you again in more pleasant circumstances. I didn’t realize the money had changed hands I will gladly return it. I was just profoundly shocked to not get greeted by the griefer mentality that I keep catching from the dood crew using this bug. No harm no foul on your part /salute.

Not so in the other 2 cases the rangers who camped my mark after killing me using the bug forcing me to abort missions I spent a lot of time and money just to find. This bug really needs to get fixed quickly or at the least a very public statement made. In the case above I was in an unusually ticked off mood because of the first 2 incidences. Normally I would have just not said a word and done a /report and moved on as we have been asked to do. I would hate to have gotten someone put in the penalty box who didn’t realize this is a bug.

I would hush for now, the devs know. Shouting it at this point will alert Mr. Pokemon that a little more investment into scouting would be great fun.

It is very heartening to see aRanger own up to this, and in this way. Shows you the calibur of the types that play Ranger
