Personally I think if your tracking devices worked better (or were cheaper)you wouldn't have to use up the points on one line in the Ranger field.

I agree 100%
I think the whole "investigation" branch needs to be redone with some type of tracking skill, but modified specifically for the purpose of tracking NPC targetsand players by name and/or type.

I'm just curious.
I am a BH in training and am wondering if I take up the Ranger Tracking Branch, if this will be useful in tracking NPC bounty targets also....if they are in appropriate range?

well If they are in the 200-300 m range it might be possible. But my results have been somewhat crazy. It Will detect all npc's so all plainsfolks, thugs, etc. Which can be an issue if you are for example south of kaadraa with npc's all over the place.

I don't know what the max range is on the top of the Tracking tree butI know Master Rangers get 500m. So I suspect it's only slightly shorter than that, maybe 400.
