Thread: Ranger armor?

Hey,

What do you think about the ability for a ranger to make some limited clothing out of animal hides and such that gives them a small percentage resists to creature damage and Dots. Like 10-20% resists to kinetic damage and some defense against bleed, poison, and disease? Sorry if this is a dumb idea or has been thought of already.

Personally I don't wear armour as it doesn't fit in with my image of a Ranger, but having said that your idea sounds interesting. The clothes could be little more than skins sewn together maybe.

Hehe - what are those half-naked, but apparenlty really heavily armoredguys on Dant. called -- Kungas? We could take a cue from all the Bounty Hunters who are begging for Mandalorian armor and ask to devs to give rangers Kunga armor....

LOL

I forgot to mention that it would just be a resists thing, no actuall armor rateing, but there would also be no encumberance.

Yes, you would have to be able to wear it, because if you couldnt then I could not either.

i think they should make it so we can make cloths for ourselfs. like big green leafy outfits that only rangers can wear and we can use like krayt stuff (or other rare wildernesscomponents)to improve the camo or something and instead of activating camo kits we drop (drop as in like a power up to a gun) them on these "coats" so the coat takes the appearance of the planet.

The fact that they are bringing this into game is just plain wrong. Whycan't the children that play bounty hunters understand that while, yes, the Mandalorian armor does exist in this time period, wearing it does not make you Boba-frickin-Fett! Shame on the devs for giving in to this request. Can you say attack of the Boba Fett Clones? In about a month or two, you will.

As for Ranger armor, I will defer to DWolfe, the ghillie suit is really all the armor I think we will need. Though if someone else can propose something that will be unique and not take away from the Armorsmith profession as far as armor crafting goes, then I am all ears.

Right, I would prefer that resists come in the form of natural abilities and not a specific type of ranger armor. I really like the ghillie suit and would wear it all the time, however, im not getting my hopes up about anything

Doing this would take something away from the Armorsmith Profession. Most Ranger's Don't wear Armor ANyway and if they do it is usually Mabri.

There is no rel need for this in my opinion. Rangers know they are not front line tanks, armor is more of a hinderance that a benefit unelss you get a really good set with low encumberance. I doubt any change to allow us to make hide armor would give us any armor that would be useful to us.

(Ranger Calc here) Personally, I am opposed to Ranger specifc armor, or clithing for that matter. As far as the Devs giving in to the BH about Mandalorian armor, all I can say is wookiee armor.
