I've been reading the regular debates about harvesting droids. However, I became master ranger yesterday and one of the things I've always believed was blown out of the water.

I have an adv. R3 harvesting droid with a bonus of +96, obviously with Master Ranger my own 'skill' is greater than this at +100.

I was on Lok harvesting Gurks. Alone I harvested 128 units of hide, but my droid harvested 133 units. The only spurious factor was that I had taken some veghash, however I don't see that this would make a difference as it boosts my ability as much as the droids,therefore it was still a level playing field.

As for droids, I read somewhere a post by a Master DE that said even as Master Ranger the maximum you would need for a harvest droid was +70, so I just got a custom made droid with +76 and had a trap module fitted too. I currently have a +90 harvest bonus myself and my droid (+76) always harvests more than me. I do not know how the harvest bonus on the droids works but I'm pretty sure it is not a % of your own bonus. I will try and did up the post by the DE....

Has anyone actually been able to confirm the % rates on the droids compaired to the actual skill rate? I've got an alt working up ranger and wanted to get a droid for it, there have been so many numbers tossed around it doesnt make any sense. would a 120% droid harvest 20% over your ability or 120%over your ability or is it a completely different number all together. If at master ranger you could harvest 100 units off something what would the end result be with a 120 droid. I rather enjoy hunting and find the ranger tree to be both enjoyable and profitable with harvesting (let alone providing hides for my crafting).
