My Novice Ranger Trando wants to have a riding mount for hunting purposes. I have seen Bantha's with a riding harness so I assume they can be used as mounts now. Can anyone tell me if they are low enough level for non-CH mounts? I REALLY don't want to see my big *edit* lizard riding a Kaadu.
If Banthas are out can someone suggest another mount a big tough Lizard Ranger might ride?

I ride a BE lvl10 Bantha, I have no CH at all. Not much good in a fight, but I think I look grand up on top of it

Best mounts are made by a Master BE/Master CH. Have them work on something that gcan get your butt out of the fire it you get attacked. I HIGHLY reccomend that you spend a few points on CH as well to get a higher level mount then 10 if you can.
I have a BE's Brackerset with 6k or so HAM and 49% kenetic resist, 2 special attacks (desease and stun) with other resists too (less but nice enough, don't remember all of them). I set him on guard on certain hunts and just start shooting. Saved my butt many times...

I have CH 0-0-0-3 so I can have my own Wasteland Cupa I tamed myself.
Level 18 with 4500 hams. Not too shabby. I named him Gannon... one of my guildmates.

Hmmm.... I love my mounts.
I'd say see if a BE can make a lvl 10 Humbaba. They are the largest mounts in the game!
I have Brackeset, Dewback, Bol, Humbaba, and Cu Pa mounts. My favorite mount is my Savage Humbaba named Humbug. It's great to ride him and look down on all the "little" people.... of course my short Bothan needs a ladder to mount him.

Can't do humbabas but we can make falumpasets which are the same model.

The perfect mount, one where we don't sit on the saddle with our legs doing the splits. How about sadles with sturrups that let us, bend our legs like we're kneeling so we can still ride the beasts without having to do calastetics after we get off. Seriously, I feel major pain looking at my toon ride around on his 'tiny' lesser plains bol. I really feel pitty for all you Bantha Broncos. (Note to art departmen; look at elephants, and not the ones from LOTR, for ideas on how people 'should' ride wide bodied animals.)
Anyway, I agree with the above posts...some basic CH would serve you well if you really want a mount. I've tossed and turned with taking a couple levels of CH or novice medic. The medic is nice, but boy it's fun to have a fully functional pet for transportation and defense, and a good friend with some tricks or two. Plus, there's nothing like riding around with the Frontiersman tag on a mount to catch some smiles from Jabba's Dancers, and smirk at those poor bounty hunters stuck in the mud fixing their busted up, glorifiedtricycle (AKA the 'swoop' bike).

Fast as a speederbike with nice resists and HAM.

I have a Non-BE Bol (named weevil
) that I have for a mount. Nothing real great about him since I am not a CH.

I run a BE bantha with <3k HAM, not particularly tough, but tough enough to hold a prey's attention long enough for me to get to work. Two special attacks, stun and one which give the weird message that 'your pet shoots at (target)' and results in a bolt of laser fire to shoot out from somewhere under it's chin....

Oh, and a couple of CL10 lowland bols called Itchy and Scratchy come along as back up tanks. You can make up the jokes yourselves.

i have JUST novice CH and these are my pets (by the way, all my pets are level 10 or lower, i just have novice CH for 4 pets)
1 Dewback (Zanzibar)
1 Kaadu (Mickey)
1 CuPa (Odin)
1 Bol (Sasquatch)
My main toon is a Rodian TK Master/Ranger. Personally, I prefer riding the Bol over any of the other pets. After the Bol would be the Dewback, then the CuPa, then the Kaadu.
If you find a BE Master, CH Master, they should be able to craft all of these at level 10 or lower (i think my Kaadu is level 7 or 6).
and if you play on Lowca, and are looking for a BE Master, CH Master, look for Peragrin. She's the best Black and Purple female Wookiee, in Pink armor, you will ever meet in the Galaxy.
