Off the battlefield, no problem: they would be rare and therefor worthy of respect. On the battlefield they are still a target.

I will train anyone. Rangers are Rangers after all
. Also, I don't PvP.

I consider my Ranger to be above the GCW. He has no interest in what the "city folk" do other than helping out his "family". All Rangers are my brothers and sisters until proven different.

Exactly. Only thing is, I have yet to face another ranger on the battlefield

As long as they are covert, I will train them. I'm not picky.
The Brotherhood of Rangers exceeds the GCW.

Actually something about facing another Ranger across the battlefield appeals to me. It would be fun to match wits I think. And if I killed him I would be respectful about it, and if he killed me I would feel I had been killed by a worthy opponent.
The very few times I have PvP'd I've been treated reasonably well. I have received several respectful bows as I return from the cloner. I just realized maybe it was my Master Ranger tag that did it!
The only time I ever got ganked and someone wasn't respectful was when trying to shop. They put mine fields around their MALL! How mean is that? So as I stood outside the door, teffed and unable to get in some commando came along and one shotted me. Even though I saw him coming and was yelling "I just want to shop! I just want to shop!" He said some pretty nasty things to me and I decided I hated cities, I hated shopping, and I hated PvP.

Does Faction matter to you as far as willing to Help or interact with other rangers. In PVP (if its your bag) would you take out the guy with the Ranger tag? Im talikin real ranger not the on LvL wonders in tracking.
Im PVE and dont PVP due to all the children who doit. Total lack of chivalry. And would help and talk to any Ranger. Imp, Reb,Neaut. I dont care a Ranger is a Ranger and part of a Special group.
Anyway your thoughts.

Faction matters .
If you are red, you die. No exceptions. Having said that, realize I am usually not the one DB'ing, so it matters little. And how can you tell the "real" Rangers from the "one tree wonders" unless the Master tag is on?
I may train you, I will hunt with you,I will help you - but PvE is another animal.
Besides, a clean kill prevents griefing.

From the impression i get, on Empire vs rebel, seems like to me, the feeling of the Empire is almost the anti thesis to a Ranger persona. Very roman like, very ordered and structured, big on civilization, etc. My impresson of a ranger persona is more like... i dunno chaotic good (to borry the D&D faction term) Not much use for strict laws or the confines of civiliaztion. So in my mind, a Ranger is a natural rebel in his personal nature.
All that said, if i was still neutral, faction wouldnt matter to me at all. However now... if i see a declared imperial, i wont go out of my way to talk/help him unless he asks in a way that appeals to my good nature.
On a side note my decision to go rebel was made for me. i was just messing around one day and /puked on imperial SSGT. He fined me like 3000 credits. It wasnt the fine, it was 1000 fine for the empire, and 2000 for me! Money grubber, and shady. That ticked me off, so i punched or slapped him (forget which), i was promptly incapped and fined another 8400 credits. He dipped his hands into my pocket AGAIN, aside from the empire fine. That REALLY pissed me off.
I went and saw my rebel recruiter after that. Damn jack-booted, goose stepping, arogant, (CENSORED)!

i would NEVER under any circumstances kill another MASTER RANGER but if you have some ranger skills and were on opposite sides of the field how am i to know your a ranger if your not tagged? if you are tagged as a master ranger then ill move along and traget the next red i see.
yes this does mean i am officially joining the pvp ranks

Neutral and staying that way. I have a hard enough time staying alive out there with 'just' the animals trying to kill me. And at least when they do they don't then feel its necessary to sound off at your corpse. lol
