I'm new. Been playing for about 3 mos now. mastered scout and rifleman....on my way to Ranger...about 1/2 way there. My question is this: Once you started one of the specialty professions (bounty hunter, carbineer, ranger, etc etc) can you drop the prerequisite profession at all at any time and still keep working on the specialty profession? All the forum talk I've seen about combining professions-ranger/swordsman, ranger/rifleman, ranger carineer, etc etc-doesn't mention whether or not these people are still trained in the prerequisite professions.
Thanks for any help,
Newbie

Unfortunately you can't. I can't see why you would want to because you'd lose all that harvesting bonus and stuff you got as a scout, not to mention the mask scent. Takes up lots of skill points huh

Yeah its not really an unfortuantly is it? I mean its a requirement since Ranger is Super Scout without the base you would lose all the lower level commands. Its a pain that it takes all the points but thats the way it is.

Well really i was thinking that if you took survival and made the entire column 1 point. And frontieering and made the entire column 1 point. It might not be a bad thing.
And yes your right wheres my Robin Hood Ranger Hat?

Without really wanting to be burnt as a heretic, 'if' we could drop scout, how much of Ranger would be left? Just I've got a horrible feeling we'd be an awful 'thin' profession...
