Should we try authoring an ultimate Newbie FAQ?
SOE, and many of the us, are expecting an influx of new players when JTL goes live. Many of us are already seeing them come actually.
Should we work on an Ultimate FAQ? Maybe a sticky that would discourage people from posting the scores of "camp macro," "trap Macro," "Fast XP," "Looking to Buy" messages that are bount to come pouring in?
Just for fun... what are some of the questions that you think are asked too often? That shouldn't be asked at all?

We could most certainly use a how to guide. The one I wrote was a guide to skills. Did the esteemed Brisc ever write a guide to Masering Ranger (I vaguely remember one)?

I have no problems writing one.
I think it could offer some decent insight to both new and old players of the Ranger profession.

Brisc has one stickied on how to master scout.
Why redo what has been done? Same rules apply to us as them, as we are 'them". Just hopefully bigger game.

Well you mean the old grind FAQ. But i think what you started is a better idea. So lets run with it. Lets take the scout FAQ and modify it for the Rangers. Even go so far as Scifi guy did with Chef's FAQ. Which is a darned masterpiece. You start with the grind guide (pre-CB we re-write in June of 2006 for post CB life) and then work it into a tracking guide. Talk about conceals pluses and minuses and quirks. How you dont use it on Kreetles but it will work on some big game. A true FAQ. Whether anyone actually uses it beyond those of us who know it isn't really an issue. Its something we as a community should do.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a "Read Before you Post" style thing which would warn players against...
A) trolling for resources
B) begging for info on camp macros
C) asking why Rangers won't areatrack Krayts for them on Corellia
etc
A pre-emptive post basically...

Give it a shot! I will either sticky it, or sub-sticky it
.

Fair Enough... I'll work on posting it for tonight. If anyone has any insights or things they'd like to see added please point them out in this thread. I'll post a first draft tonight and we can make adjustments from there.

I must go back thru the access logs for the FAQ hosted on my website. It does get a reasonable number of visitors and, for shame, I've never quite got round to finish sorting out the layout and stuff.
