Hey there
New to the ranger profesion I got some questions about tracking.
How far can you track?
Are the range affected by the tracking skill or is it just what you can track and the amount of information you get?

Welcome to the coolest gang of people to grace the galaxy 
You and all other Rangers can track in a 500m radius, a 1000m wide circle with you smack right in the middle of it. the range allways stay the same no matter how much Ranger you are. the difference is as you say, what and what you can track and how much info you get on it
