Thread: Blow Gun in first box of Ranger Trapping, new darts in each box
What do you guys think, wouldn't getting a "Blow Gun" in the Ranger trapping line be pretty cool?
Longer range then the 40 meters for traps, up to 64 meters for blowguns. Keep Ranger traps as area effect and Ranger Blow Gun darts as single attack
Each new box in Trapswould give us 1 or 2 new darts we could craft with our generic crafting kit.
Some darts might only work on certain planetary creatures or creature types, like "Naboo cats", with better darts for higher planets like Endor and Yavin near the end of the tree. Some could be more generic in nature causing a short duration paralysis, others might have a mild dot effect.
I think with enough people brainstorming we could make this a very good addition to the Ranger class
I like it, very good idea.
I am into retroish stuff like that.
Good call.
i suggested this awhile back with my whole new proposal for redoing the entrie ranger line...but i still think it should be here......i really do

This is a very good idea that I don't remember seeing before. Maybe it has been brought up but I must have missed it if it was. Anyways, this does fit into the sw universe. For anyone who has ever played pen-paper sw there was a archaic weapons certification you could get. This included things like rl powder based weapons so the basis for something like this in swg is there. Possibly add bonuses to the use of a blowgun based upon camo bonuses. It isn't a laser weapon on any sort so the dart wouldn't be visible to the attackee. As camo bonus go us so does chance to use without being attacked in return. Just my 2 cents worth.
Powder weapons like muzzle loaders, or like elephant rifles?
I'd love it if we had a nice big elephant gun that's .50 cal ![]()
Gets my vote, seeing alot of good ideas popping up, now if only they are implemented =)

What color is the sky on your planet? A freaking Blow Gun, what next... Lawn Darts?
We already have pdarts and ldarts, and contrary to popular belief, they work, or mine do. A blow gun, for the love of all that is holy... again, Darwin is at work here...
Intrepid but slightly retarded Ranger sneaks up on the Rancor, gotta be close to use a blow gun yanno, this is real he-man hunting... hits it witha blow dart.... eeewww, ahhhhh.... and the Rancor, now mad cuz some clown just needle jabbed him, and while we wait for the poison to take effect...proceeds to eat retardo boy and use him for fertilizer. Meanwhile, lazy but well equipped Ranger, using a rifle, pops 5 or 6 shots into the beastie before it realizes where he is at cuz he is prone and scentmasked and (soon, o please soon) concealed. When said beastie does come to the party, the Ranger pops traps, spams special moves, and has a nice kill.
Oh yes, please Mr. Devs, take time out to program this special weapon. I am waiting in breathless anticipation.

Who will not ever be accused of being not having enough GOOD and POWERFUL weapons.
Blow Gun darts and Lawn darts are 2 different things entirely, Blow guns were used by South American Indian tribes and some tribes in Borneo...it is possible for it to have a home in the SW universe and it could be a weapon adopted by a Ranger. I think in the expaned universe there was a reference to them somewhere? Yavin?
I never heard anyone complain about our dart traps, just the ranger ones...get your facts straight
Fine and dandy. Use a blow gun, get the same results as the natives of (pick a place they actually use them on anything but itty bitty creatures, which if you knew any anthropology or history you would realize is the case and no one used darts on people, its Hollywood fiction!!) did when they faced modern (gunpowder, boom stick) weapons for the first time. End result is always the same, the badder weapon wins.
But but but, I can sneak up and... yeah yeah yeah, next argument.... once you engage you will have a percentage chance of being discovered. You want a blow gun or a blaster now?
You go hunt gubbers, durnis, chipmunksand lil bitty things, I am playing in the big leagues with the new resource shift.
