Thread: Hard numbers on Harvesting...

Just did a quick test and here are the results. I have tracking 4 in the ranger tree, so maybe some other various levels of scouts and rangers can test this too for some hard number results to compare mineto.

Killedthe same type of creature for all4. (Nightspider)

Used the same pet for the 3 grouped/ungrouped test.

  • Solo kill (no pet)...9 units of meat

  • ungrouped kill/ungrouped harvest (with pet)...9 units of meat

  • grouped kill/ungrouped harvest (with pet)...5 units of meat

  • grouped kill/grouped harvest (with pet)...5 units of meat

So it seems that to maximize your harvesting while using pets, the answer lies in not grouping with them at all. Makes for a tough time keeping an eye on their HAM's, but the results are there...

Looks like no more pet grouping for me and many more of you out there.

I found this method also and have been using it for a couple of days. Like you said though it does make for a tough time in watching their HAMs. Lucky for the Bio-Engineers now I am buying pet stims like mad.

    Hi Jasski_Vaarl:

Thanks for the detailed report. I have experienced the same. Someone posted a macro here for there looting/harvesting in which it ungrouped, harvested, regrouped. That might be of some assistance. I find I use macros for almost everything in-game. Hope it helps.

I agree, macros are very useful, but in this case, the pets need to be ungrouped while doing the fighting to grab the maximum harvest, so a macro doesn't work here...

Only thing that does work is grouping with them to track their HAM's while exploring, and disbanding before heading into battle. All my little friends group and ungroup with X, so very easily done.

Seems kind of pointless to have the group command for pets now, but that is another thread...

Yes, and it is even worse if you are a Ranger/Squad Leader - do I hunt ungrouped to getthe normal amount ofhides, or do I group to get SL experience but fewer hides? Ah well, that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger. That which kills us ticks us off and makes us get stronger so we can get revenge...

I'm betting that it's the grouping while killing is the trigger. Did you try:

    • ungrouped kill/grouped harvest

    ?

I know this has no usefull feature, I was just curious.

Nope, missed that one, but I'll try it out next time I'm back home on Naboo. But like you said, no real effectivness with that one.
