Thread: How to make conceal work in PvP
I think that would be a little too uber. If you'e 60 meters away, prone, you would basically be invulnerable.
I think it should work precisely the way NPCs use conceal. For example, Tusken Snipers will lie prone and shoot at you. They are not on radar until you face the appropriate direction and hit tab to target, then they appear.

Forgive my silly question, since when does being 60 m away make you invulnerable? * and / on your number pad change your radar settings. I use them all the time, running through the weeds with a 64m radar is sorta silly, it's at 128 minimum. And yes, I still get spawned on, but that happens.
I do agree, take us off radar and stop our names from floating when we are camo'd and prone or crawling. Once we engage, we have broken cover and are fair game, once again on the radar.
Doing this lets us - 1. Be great at recon for PvP. Lay there and watch what is going on in the enemy camp without too much fear of getting killed.
2. Become quasi-snipers if we want. And before the Riflemen start whining, they can use a camo kit if we put it on them. Take aRanger along as your spotter -real snipers work in two man teams.

Or better yet be the sniper your self.
Having us off radar most likely will never happen, but we can all dream.
I can't really see us getting something this powerful for pvp. It doesn't seem to me that Ranger orScout aremeant to be combat classes. They're meant tobe utility/support. I can't see any gain that this would give us hunting; it's purely a pvp combat skill. And while there's nothing wrong with that, it also opens up a whole can of worms with people combo-ing the Ranger class to become the 'uber sniperer'. Look what stealth did to the entire game of DAoC.
If we did get something that took us off the radar, I can only imagine that it'd be more of a recon skill. We wouldn't show up on radar, wouldn't be tab-able, but wouldn't be able to attack unless attackedfirst, and would be able to be attacked by click-targetting us.

Concealing other players from radar in PvP is support.
Great support.
I like thie idea.
Now too bad we didn't have a Ranger correspondent to report it lol.
