Thread: Still Trapping?
Since I've made Master Ranger the only skills that I use are tracking (btw it still sucks at Novice Ranger) and camping.
/maskscent is faster and more efficient for me than the camo kits. And trapping well, I just don't use them. The only trap that I need to work on utilizing efficiently is the adhesive mesh, even if it only stops them for a few seconds, and this is because of my hunting style.
But being a marksman and carbineer, the skills I've gotten from those two groups offset all the other traps. And even the sticky mesh to a certain degree. Anyone that knows how to use Warning Shot effectively knows what I mean.
So my question -- How many of you use your traps to this day? Which ones? Or have you stopped using traps altogether?
I'm going to take a guess and say that any Ranger who also possesses (sp?) Rifle skills uses the mind traps quite a bit.
In a group, I use them more. I use Glowwire to get the MOB down quicker for others pets and my rifle, and I will use Phen dart to "rescue" a kiteing group member. The mind traps are useless to me now... as I can stack mind bleeds and then spam Headshots at 1 per second. I can rip off about 10 shots before the MOB even turns to fight me.
Ad Mesh is a JOKE.. what does it root them for? Like 2 seconds? Sonic Pulse? Bone Spur? No use to me. Phen Dart and Glow Wire... I run them through a factory and carry crates with me.
Oh.. and while we are the subject.... the big camps? Relatively worthless. The only time its worth breaking one out is when you have like 5 or more people in a group and odds are one or more of those will be "grinding" scout so they need the XP.
I use traps everytime I solo anything above a blue con.
They are cheap, easy to make, and Pdart work about 90% of the time. I hate getting boo boos. Why not trap? Pdart, glow wire and laff while it bleeds out, as you stay 50m away.
You got the skill, use it.

Bingo.....!
Phen dart. That's about it.
The ranger specific traps are pretty worthless.
Lor Accaba, Master Ranger, soon Master Pistoleer, Novice Medic, Gorath
I use traps all the time, depending on the situation of course.
My most common traps are: Glow-Wire, P-dart, and Adhesive mesh.
I only use my ranger traps if there are multiple monsters in my grill
