Hi all!

As I keep having request for avian meat, I finally decided to get some. My problem is that it seems to take me a long time to get large quantities (if you compare it to herbivore meat).

I'd like to know if there is some good spot where you can more easily find avian meat. For now I'm more interested in Corellia since it seems the quality is good there right now but feel free to talk about others planets.

I've been hunting it too, it's in demand is it not.

When it comes to Corellia Carrion Spats spawn about 1.5k North of Coronet City in reasonable amounts. You dont get a huge amount of meat from them but they drop nice and easy, watch out for the giant ones though, they are somewhat tougher.

If you "nurse" a lair you can get a lot out in terms of numbers.

If you get really, really desperate Rasps spwan about the same area also, but you will have to kill a lot of them to get any sensible amounts of meat stored...!

Abit off subject but how did you get a vendor? did you get an artisan to place it in your house?

Avian is plentiful on Lok. I am sucking in about 800 per two perlek missions I run. That is not counting any other flit or perlek lairs I run across on the way. Pharbles give avian too, but the quantities are usually not worth the effort so I usually ignore them. Flits and Perleks are not real hard to take down either. I am a rifleman and I do not have to worry to much if a accidently aggro a couple. I would imagine that any melee based ranger could fly through these missions.

As for the vendor, I**cough** grind **cough** my way to Business 3 in the artisantree to placethe vendor myself. Guess I wouldn't need it but I just thought it would be nice to have my own store. Small things makes me happy.

I have gotten alot from, what I think are called Lantern Birds or somthing like that on Endor.

I am afaid that is not possible.. as Lantern Birds drop Herbivore Meat.. not avian.


I have been told that "Bark Mite Burrower Queens" .. not any other type of Bark Mite, drop Avian Meat. They are CL60 and have high resists. I have never killed one. I am on Endor now though so maybe tonight I will try sampling one.

Beyond this "rumor" ... I don't think there is any avian meat on Endor.

The good stuff is dropping on Talus right now. Very high qual and "Elayn" is paying 25per unit.

I will be leaving Endor to head over there myself.

Doh.. Talus has Gulginaws, which drop Avian.

Avian is always tough... even on places like Lok it will be a long night to get a stack of 5000units unless you have a good group. Pharples, perleks and flits drop it there.

Naboo is not bad as you have Kaadus, Peko Pekos, Giant Peko Pekos, some Nunas and even the rare Peko Peko Albatross.

Rori has lots of avians that drop 30-50 units (for a solo hunter) like rasps and vir vurs(I know.. and avian bunny.. go figure)

What I would suggest is sampling each of these planets, finding the good stuff and hunting it BEFORE you have a customer. Get a group of 3 or 4 .. hit it hard one night and get your 5k-10k and hold on to it till you get a buyer. Even so-so Avian can net you 20per at the right time and the really good stuff will get you up to 30per.

One of my favorite things to do is a "roaming hunt". For example, I had a customer wanting herbivore meat from Rori. While gathering this, I found out that the avian was top notch as well... so I collected it too. Then I found out that the carnivore meat was excellent. SO.. here I was on Rori.. collecting herbivore for buyer, but also with two other good meats dropping. I got a couple of guys to join me and I did a "lap around rori". On foot.. we went in a huge triangle to the major cities on the planet.. tracking and killing every carnivore, avian and herbivore in our path. It took us all day on a Saturday, but I walked out of there with enough meat to net each of us quite a few credits when sold.

I just sold 4k of corellian avian meat for 75cpu....he offered lol, i asked for 40cpu.....I found that if you go to the rebel base in the NW and just keep cirlcling the base at about 300-800m, you get plenty of carrion spats and also those big bat looking things that drop like 26 units per. fyi ... took me about 4 - 5 hours to get the 4k.
