Hey everyone,

My apologies if this is posted elsewhere and i missed it, but i was trying to determine what the consensus is on the easiest/quickest avian meat and herb meat to harvest.

I'm a master doc but also try to harvest as much of my own meat as possible, so i was wondering...if stats are not a factor and i'm wanting to go out and quickly collect some of these meats, what planet is easiest to gather it on. I'm pretty good in a fight but you won't ever find me trying to solo a Krayt (not even pre patch) and i've never had a problem with the mobs i've had to fight for avian and herb meat so far.

So, pleasepost of the planet you would go to if trying to collect avian meat the quickest and what planet for herb meat. If you can, please include what drops the meat on that planet and if you just roam or obtain missions for said animal.

easy herbie - paralopes, Corellia and Talus. No xp to speak of, they barely can attack, and they are semi plentiful. Downside, no missions for them, they give only about 10 units of meat per (less to scouts) and they tend to wander once you engage one, making them a pain to harvest.

Easy avian - rasps. Shoot rasps. Kill them all. Stay away from the red ones tho, they bite.

Avian is always tough, and with that the planets that have easy Avians are also small Avians. Not big drops. But if you can handle it I think Lok(perleks, flits, pharples) and Naboo(Pekos, Kaadus, etc.) might be some of the best. Dathomir is good for the reptilian fliers, but there is so much other stuff there that will kill you that its tough to do not in a large group. Rori isn't bad either. There are no big drops, but you pretty much can run around 500m from one of the major cities and never run out of Vir Vir or Rasp targets.


Herbivore is much easier of course. Once again the advanced planets like Dantooine(Bols, Pickets, Thunes), Dathomir(Malklocs and Kwis) and Endor(Bordoks, Swirl Prongs, Bolle Bols) are LOADED.. but even if the targets are not too tough for you, the surrounding nightmare of aggressive creatures will be hard to get by.

When its dropping good stuff, I like Tatooine for Herb Meat. Banthas and Rontos drop it, you can get missions for them or just run around the dune sea and never be lacking for targets. Although the drops aren't as big as some of the other planets, I think its a good compromise with ease of killing. If you have any Master Combat profession it will be so easy you will think you are raking leaves. Oh, and I have also been the Krayt Canyon by the Graveyard when there were no Krayts and there were so many Banthas they looked like herds of buffalo.

Bottom line is you want to collect the most meat as fast as you can. Depending on you weapon skill and group size.. this could be on a starter planet like Naboo or Corellia or this could be on an advanced planet like Lok or Endor. The thing you must always remeber to minimize is your downtime. If you are getting incapped and killed or spending all your time healing in camp, you aren't harvesting what you came there for.

I had heard that dant Picket missions were a pretty good way to rapidly accumulate herb. Looking at the various options, it would appear that as long as i can handle it and don't get slowed by beingin over my headthen trying Dant for bols, pickets, etc is the way to go. If this proves too much for me, then giving tat a try might work.

I think for avian it sounds like giving lok a try with some perleks, flits, and pharples (oh my!) might be a good idea. I've harvested alot of naboo avian and a day or two of lok experience should give me a good feel for which planetseems faster and less monotonous.

I would like to elaborate more on Tenesmus's post. I was just at the Kryat Graveyard this morning. The best time to go there is right after the server goes down and reboots. Kryat Dragons, Lizards, Banthas (usually Dune) are so plentiful, it is a virtual killing spree. There are 3 imperial detachment HQ's right near the Krayt Graveyard. I was soloing Kryat's and everything else that spawned there. The trick I used, was attack a creature and run towards the base. This is when my imperial friends (troopers and AT-ST's ) would take down the creature. Once the creature was dead, I would head out and harvest the various resources. On a side note, a Kryat will take out an AT-ST, about 8 troopers, and still be standing, so be real careful when you attack one and hit the burst run as soon as you get off a shot. I also saw that the Kryat's were attacking each other (which helps) and everything around it. All in all, the best time to get as many resources as possible, in the shortest amount of time, is right after the server comes back up. I hope this information helps.
