Hello fellow rangers. I'm relatively new to the ranger profession. I dabbled in it for a while and finally got my Master Ranger designation last week. I've been reading the forums a lot more lately to keep abreast of Ranger news and found this forum very helpful for a Ranger working his way up through the ranks.

Now, I havn't been SWG that long either, but have spent some time poking around other profession, galaxy and trade forums. The one thing I've noticed is that rangers really are a friendly bunch. While some profession forums spend their time explaining why they are superior to others and trade forums simply bring out the worst in people, the ranger forum is one healthy community.

My impressions thus far are that we enjoy what we do and are generally proud of it as well, which is great. Nonetheless, respect is pervasive throughout this forum. Rangers seem to show respect both for each other as well as other professions and players in the game. As far as I'm concerned, this is what MMORPG is all about and will likely make my stay with SWG not only more enjoyable, but longer lasting.

You mentioned Naritus in a previous post-- I don't suppose you'd be interested in helping to found an Imperial Rangers PA with Lira and I? If not, that's cool. Yes, the Rangers are indeed a friendly bunch.

I am a very dedicated Imperial Soldier, but the Brotherhood/Sisterhood we Rangers share rises above such petty things as the Galactic Civil War. Anytime I ever see any player (no matter what faction, guild, species, ect) with a Ranger profession tag over their head, they will ALWAYS at least get a salute from me. The person could be a dirty Bothan Rebel who is a member of one of the most hated Rebel PAs in the game, but that doesn't matter. If he/she is a Ranger, then I would like to show my respect, and i'd gladly call them "friend".

Yeah the profession is alot of Skill Points, but it's also the friendliest bunch you'll ever come across.

Has anybody seen Don Hertzfeldt's cartoon of Billy's Balloon? The part when both kids are flying in the air and they see each other in the distance... and just smile and wave knowing that they are sharing something spectacular. That's what I feel like when I see another ranger.

Of course one of the kids does get sucked up into an airplane engine...
