Morning,
Just a quickie regarding GDK spawns. Last night I took a small group of guildmates on a GDK hunt, which was a first for all of us. I have occasionally run into GDK's when just running around but this was the first time I have ever tried to track them.
My questions are:
1. I believe that the areas to the SE and SW of the volcano are known spawn areas for GDK, are there other areas that have a good chance to spawn loot dropping GDKs?
2. What sort of success rate do you guys have on a hunt? I was in two minds about my luck, I managed to find a spawn in the first few minutes (like the first 2 or 3 minutes) of our hunt, which was nice, but I feel that led to unrealistic expectations from the group members. That single spawn point gave us 4 GDKs, which I felt was very lucky as I was only expecting to find maybe 5 GDKs in a buff session. My group seemed to believe we would be running into them every couple of minutes. Are they being to optimistic or am I being too pessimistic? What's your opinion?
Thanks for any help.

Well being im on LOK as home base. I can track them fairly well. they have spawns that shift around the planet. On my server they seem to favor Close to the IMP base.

Yeh, you can find GDK's fairly easily using mount chaolt as a nexus for areatracking. Just have your meatbag.. err.. companions run around itlooking/triggering as many creaturespawns as possible.
You might also want to WP various hotpoints where you find them, to find your server concentration of the little buggers.
This concentration can vary from server to server, pending on many things, amongst other how many playercities litter the planet.

Yes SW or SE of the Mount as well as east of the Imp Outpost tend to be the most common spawn points. If you don't find any current spawns then tease the bone piles to generate spawns. If you haven't fought one before they generate significant disease tics. Just remember not to panic I have never seen a GDK disease tic consume more than your original stat before buffing. So if you have 1000 Health and buffed to 3600 you would be diseased to 2601. This would leave you 1 health when the buff fades but plenty of life to fight the GDK. The GDK however will disease all three stat pools over time so if you hunt them alone ensure that you have mind and dancer buffs as well.

ok guys, thanks for the tips.
I was in the right general area, we must have just been unlucky with the spawns.
Saw plenty of normal dune kimos, and a few enraged kimos, but only got 4 GDKs.
Cheers

They are rare to begin with. 4 in one night is not bad going.

So I just posted in another thread about Krayt hunting, but I'll post here as well to catch other passers-by...
It would be fantastic if a vet ranger could put together a BGH how-to guide.
Tricks like killing area spawns to have big game respawn is something have only just come to understand and wish I had understood earlier.
I understand that things vary from server to server and that sites like swgcreatures.com can be moderately helpful, but I think a guide like this for rangers could be useful.
Again, that's just my two cents.
