Thread: /examine and Ranger/scout skills
according to the ranger faq (found in the "ranger links" sticky thread):
- Novice Scout: Aggressive, Stalker
- Hunting 1: Tameable
- Hunting 2: Hide Type, Meat Type
- Hunting 3: Deathblows
- Hunting 4: Ferocity
- Master Scout: Difficulty Level
- Novice Ranger: nothing
- Tracking 1: nothing
- Tracking 2: Special Attack 1
- Tracking 3: Special Attack 2
- Tracking 4: Base To-Hit
- Master Ranger: Damage
i could have sworn to see creature resists required some degree of scouting... turns out that's not the case
This is probably the most useful Ranger skill, IMHO. You can check the resists on a creature and immediately know which weapon to use, or if you have a chance of bringing it down. Deathblow info is also good.
I wish they add a little more info, like whether or not a creature will "bring a friend".
A correction if I may: At hunting 4 you can see the difficulty level too....unless they changed it.....but I never had master scout and I could see the difficulty level....but this was like 3 publishes ago....

I agree that the examine info is extreamly useful if you hent solo with out buffs and armor. I enjoy knowing what tactics my prey might decide to use. The only info I wish we had that is not there is...creature is social.
Ranged attack would also be useful in some situations.
