myth, if you wouldn't mind postingin the "if you are leaving" thread, it might actually come to some good... i understand you may not be leaving the profession but it might as well be our all purpose disastifaction thread...

it can be really disheartening to the rangers and eventhe wanna-be rangers to see these posts... since we all pretty much have the same complaints, we might as well keep it under one thread.. this also allows those who know they don't want to read it to avoid it...

i really hate that we have enough people posting to warrant a thread for it...

thanks

Ok, with the message subject being what it was, you definitely got a laugh out of me on the first line. I'm glad some of us still have a sense of humor about the whole situation!

Ever heard the term "things will get worse before they get better"? I used to believe in that, but now I'm not so sure about the last part. You think Ranger is going to have any role to play in the Space Expansion? I don't think so either.

I feel the urge to say "Someone get the forks ready, I'm almost done!" But not just yet.

I'd like to but I can't.

I look at the profession and it's almost impossible to find something that sets us apart in any remote way any more.

Droid harvesting killed us. It closed the gap so much between what a novice scout can do and what a ranger can.. that seriously... it's getting harder and harder to be proud about anything we can do. I'll get a stupid droid because i have to now.. and when I do I'm going to name it K-Y for the screwing they just gave us.

This could have been addressed in any of the other 'woe is us' threads. We all know the profession is not being all it can be, but do we really need each person to start a new thread every day about it?

I am still very proud to be a Master Ranger, and I always will be (proud and a Master Ranger).

look im a novice ranger reading this kills me... if u dont want to be a ranger then get out. we are not become rangers for money or for power, we become rangers to stay away from cities and other people, we hunt, kill, and harvest what we need. if u want to wine about this profession instead of sticking it out through the rough times then u my good man are not a true ranger. can i get some back up from my ranger brothers and sisters?

That's not very nice.

People become Rangers for many reasons, not just the ones you listed and some *do* like to make money and/or be "powerful" (whatever that means in a game where cookie-cutter templates change from publish to publish).

These "rough" times have been going on a for a very *long* time. Check out the date on the Holocron post stuck at the top of this forum. Check to see what's been done since that post. At some point you do have to stand up and be heard. That time is fast approaching for me, I'm tired of seeing the amount of work and effort by Rangers on these forums go to complete waste because we are not a priority, aren't popular, and aren't very "Star Wars"-y.

And be honest, the Ranger forum is a sea of tranquility in regards to content when compared with some other professon forums that I will not name.

In all honesty, I think the devs are slowly transitioning ranger out of the game. No, I have zero evidence. It is just a feeling.

look.. if you are a novice ranger, with skill points that i don't have anymore, spread out over different profs, then don't tell a master ranger jack about what the profession is about. or what the shortcomings are.

At this point there is virtually zero difference between a novice scout and a master ranger. All I (we) want is some abilities that are useful as a profession.. not necessarily something to make money off of.

Same though has crossed my mind. Hopefully, it will not come to pass.

They have done nothing to disprove that theory.

I think some psychegroup has paid SOE tosee how long we will stay Master of an almost completely useless profession.

Only thing we have left is our tracking. Won't be long before that will be slapped onto a droid as well.
