Thread: How do you use Areatrack??
a picket (baby)
a picket
a quenker
So then I clicked on picket baby and hit the "okay" button and ...... NOTHING HAPPENED. Is something supposed to happen? How is it supposed to work?
Hiya,
I know the interface appears as if one should click the results -- but nothing is meant to happen then. As you level, you get more information when tracking.
At Novice Ranger /areatrack only lets you know what critters are around. Field Bioscience I will tell you which direction to seek the animals. FB II lets you track non-player characters, FB III = distance and direction for NPC's and animals, FB IV is the ability to track players.

Wrong again Serraphin.
Speed through an area and you create spawn in your wake. I often make a series of circles then /ar to see what I stirred up, see if there is anything worth harvesting as it were.
Works really well, as I can read a compass and guesstimate distance. Helps when attempting to find certain meats/hides I can't get missions for.

If you do the math, the area that you actually scan is 2,500,000 square meters. (using A=pi*r^2). Thats a lot of ground to search. I do the speed through and create spawn trick too. Its even better if you tell your hunt-mates to split up and run around for a bit, then shout out when you found what you are looking for.
more people, covering more area=more spawns.

And only if the creature has spawned. Its realatively useless now if you have a Speeder. Happy Hunting
