Hey Everyone!

Im a master ranger/trando, so my creature harvesting is +110. I was going fishing last night, because I need it for Pet Stim D's. In order to maximize my fishing harvesting, I took some veghash. This bumped my harvesting to +142!!

However, I did not see any increase in fish harvesting. This has lead me to 2 conclusions.

1) Your harvesting level does not affect fishing at all.
or
2) There may be a cap on creature harvesting.

What are your thoughts on this?

I believe number 1 is the case. Also, milking is not affected by your harvesting mod.

1) Is correct - fishing isn't based off any skill, it's just there.

2) There's not a cap on harvesting that I'm aware of, other than the standard +25 cap on ST/BE bonuses. And I think it's been brought up before that inherent bonuses, like the +10 you get from being a Transdoshan aren't calculated into the limits.

The only way I know to increase fish harvest is to get your buddies out there fishing with you.

Does veghash affect the amount of milk you get from creatures?

Is there BE-enhanced clothing for creature harvesting?

I don't think Veghash boosts milk harvesting.

And there are no BE enhancements for creature harvesting - that'd be nice!

The only BE enhancement for Ranger is Scent Neutralization, which gives a camouflage/maskscent bonus.

Well, that and to use Volsted's Power Fishing Technique, posted over on the Scout board, if you're not doing that already... That makes a HUGE difference.

I was also lead to believe that the max for any skill is +125 and taking additives to go over and above that would reflect the higher number, but not an actual greater yield/skill.

Of course, this was back when chefs couldn't make doodly for food, maybe it changed and that only applies to skill mods and BE enhanced clothing.

From what I understand of it, clothing modifiers can add at most +25 to any skill regardless of the starting level (I know I get 14 experimentation points on camo kits as a Bothan with over +25 camo clothing, +150 camo does not give 15 points). Chef foods are meant to add the full amount and it should stack with this +25. So Defense vs. Knockdown +100 food would give +100 defense vs. knockdown to whatever your current stat was. If you also had +25 in skill tapes, it would be +125 to what your base skill was. But it is hard to tell when the extra bonus still shows up in the skills window.

It's been painfully obvious for a very long time that harvesting skill means *nothing* when talking about eggs, fish, milk, mollusk and crustacian. Therefore there is no reason to expect that vegash would effect such things either. Vegash merely affects the harvesting mod.

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly does veghash do, and are there any side effects? Also, what can I expect to pay for it?

From what I gather, Veghash enhances your Harvesting mod. Now what it really does I have no idea, since I am neither a druggie or an alkie.

By the way, to answer the final question on harvesting, ya know that radial menu you pull up and it says "Harvest Resources"? That's for animal "parts", and animal "parts" only. Therefore, harvesting mods have nothing to do with the fish you catch or the eggs you steal. Harvesting is merely a number of how well your skill is at skinning, fileting, and de-boning a corpse. Nothing more. So stealing eggs from a lair would not be affected. Nor would milking an animal.

It's a food, so.... It does indeed add to your harvesting mod. It can be useful when hunting large quantities, but the smaller harvest stay small.
